Lexus may have built a reputation for well-built luxury cars, but it's obvious now that the brand wants to do more that. Whether it's the LFA or other F-badged vehicles, the new Lexus is anything but boring. Next week at the North American International Auto Show, the brand will introduce the LF-LC Concept - which hints at what a high end Lexus Coupe might look like. Perhaps to fit the spot once held by the SC430?
The concept has been in development for some time and is rumored to have a hybrid powertrain. We will know more next week after the car is unveiled in Detroit.

Well, it's a reality now. In the space of twenty two weeks, Nissan UK will build a one-off Nissan Juke-R combining their crossover with an R35 GT-R. Looking at the video above, they certainly aren't doing things by halves and are in the capable hands of RML in the UK. I'm quite looking forward to the final result. This is the same company who brought us a mid-engined 350Z powered Micra (The Micra 350SR) so they have a bit of wild streak for building fun and outside the box project cars.

When Mike mentioned that the rumor mill had started regarding a new Toyota Supra set to debut in 2014, the comment box exploded. This just shows how much we love ‘our' Supra. Mike asked you guys what you would like to see from a new Supra. But what about how it would look? Luckily we have some very talented 3D designers at our EA Stockholm office who whipped up this awesome looking concept, visualizing what a next gen Supra could look like. Their goal was to try and keep the DNA of the...

To be fair, the Juke model was something we before never really associated with power and performance. However, when Nissan got in touch with us to explain the premise of a special and one off Juke based concept, we were all ears. They are putting together what they are calling a 'Super Juke' based on the popular crossover model. What makes this special is not just the stripped out interior, wider arches, front splitter and split rear wing but the 480BHP powerplant (which just happens to...

Toyota is planning on showing an updated version of the FT-86 II Concept at next week's Frankfurt Motor Show, and they've released this video clip as a teaser.
Looks interesting, but can we please see the production version already. Word has it the final version will debut at the Tokyo Motor Show in December.

I'm sure a lot of you have seen Andy's recent post about the concept C-X16 that Jaguar has created. Our friend Al Clark sent me this video a couple of days ago and I'm sure you'll enjoy seeing the car in motion. Who is going to start the petition to ensure Jaguar puts this into production?

We will be covering the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show in more detail soon, but we thought the stunning new Jaguar C-X16 Concept deserved its own post. The Jaguar C-X16 Concept is the latest design in the reinvention of Jaguar and their design language and follows the XF, XJ and the C-X75 Concept last year. The new car is a compact rear wheel drive and is the smallest Jaguar coupe produced. With an all aluminum construction and a new 380hp 3.0l V8, it's capable of of 0-100km/h in 4.4sec and a...

If I could pick one vehicle that excited me the most at the LA Auto Show, it would have to be the Quattro Concept in the Audi booth.
Andy Blackmore covered this car a bit when he looked at the Paris Motorshow , but I thought I'd post some of my own observations on this beast from the LA show floor....

Our buddy Adam Zillin over at 7Tune.com has been closely following development of the FT-86, and at a recent Toyota press event in Japan, Adam took the opportunity to get the latest scoop on everybody's favorite car of the future.
Contrary to reports that the project had been delayed, Adam was told that the car is still on track for a release in November 2011, with development about 50% complete. Meanwhile we still wait for word on how much power the car will be packing when it hits dealers.
Slowly but surely, the car is shaping up. Can the fall of '11 come any sooner?
For more, head over to 7Tune.

Once the ultra-hyped Toyota FT-86 hits the showroom floor, there's a chance it will be known as the Toyota FR-S. This is according to documents showing that Toyota has filed a trademark for the "FR-S' name in the United States and Canada.
Personally, I think FR-S has a nice ring to it. What about you?

Here's some not particularly good news regarding everyone's favorite automobile of the future - the Toyota FT-86. Word out of Japan is that the release of the car has been pushed back to 2013, possibly to rethink the design or even to accommodate hybrid technology.
Considering the overwhelming positive response the concept has had, I can't see any reason why a re-design would be in order, but who knows what goes on behind closed doors at Toyota?
If true, this could be a pretty big setback to the people around the world waiting for this car. Then again, Japan's automotive tabloids aren't always the most legit source of information. Hopefully we'll hear more about this soon.

With Dino's fantastic Hakosuka feature and our JCCS coverage it seems like we've been on a bit of Nostalgic JDM kick this week. Sticking with that theme for a moment, we have the Honda EV-N Concept, which will be shown at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show. Although it features a high tech electric drivetrain, the exterior was clearly inspired by the original Honda N360 of the late '60s.
Anyone else think this would look awesome dropped on 12 or 13-inch RS Watanabes or SSR's?

After so many rumors I think our prayers have been heard, at least at the design studio of Toyota in France. They designed this successor of the Corolla AE86 that will be debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show. Luckily for us Dino will be covering this show so I'm sure he will get us all the details surrounding this car. I do know that it will be powered by a 2.0 liter boxer engine that has been developed by Subaru and that it will be rear wheel driven. The engine has been placed as far back as possible...

With fall fast approaching, that means it's time to once again start looking towards the auto show season and the concept cars that come with it. One of the concepts that's already been revealed is the Mazda MX-5 superlight concept for the Frankfurt Show. As it's name suggests, this car takes the standard MX-5 and strips away "excess" weight , doing away with things like a windshield or top. The resulting car is a unique creation that's one my favorite concept cars in recent memory - the raw spirit of the MX-5 turned up to eleven.
Hopefully it comes with a pair of leather driving gloves and some goggles...

Just in time for BMW month, here's an interesting bit of news coming out of BMW's Mini division. The newest model coming to the always-expanding is the Mini line is this new coupe model, which will be on display in concept form at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. As the name suggests, this car takes the familiar Mini styling and adds a sweeping coupe treatment to the rear....

When this dropped into my inbox this morning, I thought it was a hoax.. Aston Martin have developed a 'luxury commuter concept', the Cygnet, which is based on the Toyota iQ. According to AM, the concept represents a creative, environmentally conscious solution, being small, yet with presence, fuel efficient with the prestige of Aston Martin's luxury brand ownership. Surprisingly, the clay shows how well the front end has been integrated into the main iQ body using the existing Toyota...

Yes, yes, another Porsche post. However, this post is special eye-candy as it features some very cool artwork by the Porsche Vehicle Design Studio. Each year Porsche release a number of calendars. A special 'style' edition has been available the last couple of years and features some stunning artwork from the Design Studio.I love big calendars, I always try and get one each year. Its not a cheap calendar, but its been a great resource for me this year even if it did cost me an arm and a leg...

The European Civic Hatchback is a popular car on Speedhunters, so this should attract some interest. Its the new Mugen Civic Hatchback concept. However, its currently just a styling exercise. The car was shown at the recent Moscow Motor Show. This may seem a weird choice, but Russia is apparently Europes biggest Auto market. Mugen have traditionally stayed clear of Europe, so this might be a exercise to gauge reaction. Other than the over the top rear wing, I like the design. Its aggressive and sporty...

The Mazda Furai (pronounced 'foo-rye') concept has already graced the pages of Speedhunters a couple of times, but I thought this stunning concept deserved its own feature. The Furai is a concept car, designed by Mazda's Californian Design studio and Swift Engineering. It is built on an old Courage C65 LMP2 race-car chassis. The concept made its debut at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year. The design is the fifth in the 'Nagare' series of Mazda concepts, all of which have...
