NASCAR is something that's always bound to split opinions. Some people love it, some absolutely despise it. No matter what your thoughts on the sport are, I think we can all agree that the stock cars of yesteryear were much more exciting machines than today's cars.
With that in mind, here's a look at a '69 Dodge Charger Daytona I spotted last month during my visit to Canepa Design....

I'm pretty sure that if you're reading this, we both share a similar passion in our lives. I'm also certain that you can associate with me when I say that our passion for all things mechanically propelled is something that we can never switch off. It's a constant part of who we are and I don't think any of us would change it. I visited the US for the first time in over ten years a week or two back for a short holiday. From the moment we disembarked our flight, I found myself absolutely...

The circuit of Spa-Francorchamps is a law unto itself. It obeys no one, is unpredictable, dangerous and capricious. Located deep in the forests of the Ardennes, the area has its own microclimate, meaning it could be raining on one part of the track whilst it's bone dry on another. On a single lap around it a driver is faced with some of the most consistently challenging corners on the planet. Now think about doing that 550 times. For 24 hours. In a high-powered GT racing machine. In the wet...

Vintage Trans Am cars are brilliant. There is no other way to put it.
If you ever get the chance to watch these cars run in person, you'll know why so many consider late '60s and early '70s Trans Am to be one of the greatest racing series of all time....

Remember the Mysterious Dodge Charger Daytona that I posted last week? The car got got quite a bit of interest, and our friend Rob Einaudi over at Car Domain did a bit of searching and found that the car is owned by a guy named Sean Machado. It's not a real Daytona, but a very convincing clone built for track use (Sean also owns a genuine Daytona). Rob also dug up this clip of the beast running flat out at Willow Springs with some other Mopars last month.
Just listen to it roar around Big WIllow. Awesome!
Thanks for the tip Rob!

Whats up there fellow SpeedHunters. Eric from Twins Turbo here. We finally had a chance to bring our twin turbo charged Dodge Viper, which owned and driven by Bob Griffith, out to a standing mile event again and Linhbergh was kind enough to come along for the ride to bring you guys a taste of the action. Since we ran her last, we have made some changes to the car. You will notice that the wing element is absent and there is now a parachute mounted out back. The other main modification we made was...

Let's keep moving right along now with a second selection of photo's from Sunday's Spring Fling Mopar bash in Van Nuys.
I'm not sure just what it is about these Mopar machines, but they just have an emotion connection that you just don't see as often with other cars. If you were to visit an event like the Spring Fling, you'd know exactly what I'm talking about....

Here in car-obsessed Southern California, there is NEVER a shortage of automotive things to do. Fords were the order of business last Sunday at Knott's Berry Farm, and this weekend it was time for the Mopar folks to step into the spotlight at Spring Fling XXV at Woodley Park in Van Nuys....

A standing mile event can best be described as a shorter version of land speed racing or a longer version of drag racing. It's happy medium between those two very different racing disciplines. It's also a great sport to open up some grab a few brews, open up a few lawn chairs, and relax. But more on all that later. I just thought I'd post a quick desktop of this Dodge Viper waiting for its turn at the start line, from the Texas Mile, before I went into the meat of Texas Mile coverage...

When we were kids, my brother and I would call Dodge A100's and Ford Econolines "funny looking pickups".
Are they funny looking? Yes I suppose. Are they cool? Without a doubt.
I spotted this pro street style A100 at the Hot Rod Reunion last month and got a real kick out of it. There's nothing like having a wicked V8 sitting right between you and your passenger.

If you had to think of one word to describe this 1997 Dodge Viper you see above, what would it be? Beastly? Monstrous? Frightening? Aggressive? Intimidating? I wouldn't be able to think of any word for the simple fact that this car makes me speechless. I mean, look at it! If Bruce Wayne and his alter ego was a gearhead that wanted to frightening the living bejesus out of his enemies then this is the car he's build. The rest of the car is pretty much dwarfed by this. What you're looking...

Hey there fellow SpeedHunters my name is Elvis and I drive this 2006 Dodge Charger SRT8. I live about an hour east of San Francisco and I have owned this car since new back in late 2006. In the last year or so I've been so intrigued by the whole "Aggressive Wheel Fitment" movement that so I've not only decided to try out some new things with my car but I actually created Stance:Nation which is a website that showcases rides who are taking the meaning of "aggressive wheel fitment"...

There I was, a Sunday drive when all of a sudden my automobile stopped in the middle of the freeway. Luckily, on the shoulder-side. I limped over and came to stop. When I opened the hood I was greeted with (a lot) of smoke and coolant water. My radiator had cracked and engine overheated... The plan to attend American Sunday on the circuit at Zandvoort wasn't meant to be. I quickly called some friends who were more than happy to pick me up with a trailer. But then a second problem arose, no material...

After spending two consecutive weekends trackside on the streets of Long Beach, I headed up to Van Nuys yesterday for a slight change of pace. The annual Mopar "Spring Fling" was going down at Woodley Park, and being a big fan of the Chrysler Corp's vintage muscle cars (who isn't really?), I had the event marked on my calendar for a while....

I'm sure a lot of you guys remember this random snap I posted about this flushed out Charger. At that time it was still a work in progress. In the comments, a hot debate started regarding the wheels and about the fact it was a domestic ride... at least for our American readers. In the meantime, I've continued to follow the build thread and just saw these pictures being posted of the finished product. I'm still amazed at the amount of presence this car has. It just looks like something...

Just saw this Dodge Charger on the Stanceworks forum . It made me stop looking for some other material and I just stared for a while, I swear. I'm not a fan of muscle cars, but this particular one just felt different. The wheels are a big part of this car appearance. Some of you could have identified them as a set from a Dodge Viper, they come in size 22X10 with +22 all-round and they are wrapped with 256/30/22 Yokohama's. The owner is working on making the car go even lower with a set of...

Hey Speedhunters,
My name is Kevin Cederwall from Walnut Creek California. I’ve been working on cars and dreaming about having a nice one of my own since before I could even drive. I got extremely lucky though when the opportunity to pick up one of my relative's 68 Dodge Charger came along.
This whole process started about 3-4 years ago at around the age of 16, when I picked the car up from his house not knowing what I was getting myself into. But I learned quickly and started with tinkering on the car, with mostly small projects. ...

Twins Turbo Motorsports builds bad ass stuff day in and day out and this Dodge Viper is no exception. This car, when it is finished, will be beyond bad ass. The owner of this car has owned nine other Vipers before this one in every imaginable configuration. When Twins Turbo was tasked to build this car, they were told to dream up the meanest, baddest street Viper imaginable --and to get it done. This Viper is getting a complete redo from head to toe for the fact that the Twins Turbo built V10 will...
