By popular demand, we've added some of Kevin Raekelboom's fantastic shots of the TUK Customs MK5 Golf to the Desktops section.
Head over there now to find two different shots available in both widescreen and standard formats.

We've seen all sorts slammed and stretched cars this month, and not without a doubt Volkswagens are one of the world's most common platforms for this sort of styling. In some cases it can get a bit dull seeing Golf after Golf lowered on BBS wheels, but every once in a while you see a car like this one. There's nothing outstanding of gimmicky about the car, but it still manages to stop you in your tracks. It could be the color, the ride height, or the precise fitment of the wheels, but this MK5 Golf owned by Chris Peacock of Scotland manages to stand out from a very crowded field....

This car is getting famous all over the world and has been featured in many VW magazines, blogs and forums. When you look closely at this build, it's clear why it was recently on the cover of Performance VW magazine; this Golf is a top-end, high quality car....

This fresh looking Golf MK4 was spotted at the recent Westside Show in the UK. You see a lot of rims that come from higher end cars ending up on cars in the VW community. This time the owner of this Golf got himself a set of wheels from the Porsche Turbo. It just shows that a design that has been made exclusively for a Porsche also works wonders on other cars. -Jeroen Willemsen Picture taken from Tej's flickr stream

There is just no denying that the VW community have the Stance is Everything theme perfected. Here we have another example that proves that. The BBS LM wheels are a perfect match for this Golf mk4, there is a little bit of tuck but I'm sure it can drive without a hitch. The black accent on the frontbumper is also a cool touch. -Jeroen Willemsen Thanks to Oliver Verheij for the use of this picture.

This mk2 with what looks like to be Regamasters replicas looks stunning. In his previous setup the owner was rocking some Audi wheels, but I really prefer this more track oriented look. You can find more pictures on the owners Flickr account . Originally spotted on Supermade. -Jeroen Willemsen

Here's a small selection of photo's I found from the Edition 38 event in Northhampton, UK . I almost forgot about this car show, but thanks to a tip I got from one of our readers, I found these photos shot by Oliver Verheij. Oliver shoots photo's for VWfanatics and does it very well I might add. Let's have a look at a small selection I made from his portfolio . In the opening you could have recognized the car that featured in the Wagenwerks DVD trailer that I featured here . It really...

This second installment covers the outside grounds of the VW-Speed Summer Show. In the opening picture you see the most favorite wheel amongst the show goers. The community is really laidback and it seemed that for most of the people that attended it was more like a get together with ‘old' and new friends....

Because of the lack of Japanese tuning shows in Holland I decided to pay a visit to the VW-Speed Summer show . It was really refreshing to see other kind of cars and their owners, both the scenes are a world apart. I had a feeling that inside the VW community there is place for the entire family. The show itself was bigger than I expected. You could wander around outside to see what kind of cars the visitors brought with them or you could take a step inside where you could find more precious metal...

Every July, cars come from all over Europe to MIVW - short for Men in Volkswagen . It's probably Holland's biggest VAG event of the year. For the 2009 iteration, the organizers rented out a huge airport hanger - a pretty cool location! This worked out quite well as the Dutch weather was pretty poor this weekend so we got to check out these cars from the comfort of the great indoors. So in my past two car features, I saw some people were complaining that they are missing the 'Speed'...

Like I said in the Audi TT feature this morning, I used up all my current crop of AWD photos in the VAG month... but I'm sure you guys will like this Euro VW Golf as much as an AWD car, maybe better! This mk4 is owned by Davy, he likes to have everything perfectly finished. A real detail freak! And that's what we like at Speedhunters! Davy's mk4 is running on air suspension... like I said before there are loads of crappy roads here in Belgium and he likes to spare his car from getting...

I used to have a good fashion designer pal, who once told me of a meeting he had had with Creative Director of a well known German urbanwear fashion line. The Creative Director said something quite interesting in their meeting: "Fashion is Communication. At every moment, the clothing you wear is telling everyone around you what kind of person you are, what you value, and what you want to say about yourself. Even if you choose not to pay attention to the details of your personal style, this is...

Having been a Speedhunter follower since day one, I thought a VW feature month was an ideal opportunity to show you guys the MarkV GTI that myself and some close friends built and have been racing Dubai, UAE. After some email banter, Rod invited me to put a guest blog together tracking my racing activities, so here we are... Most, if not all of you, will have no idea who I am, let alone know that there is a pretty killer race series happening in Dubai. To kill the first question off my name is Phil...

While browsing through Kevve's photos, one of the cars that drew some interest was this Mk5 Golf 5-door. On the outside, the car looks great. It's dropped low on an RRAS air ride system and has a set of 18" Golf 6 replica wheels that nicely fill the fenders. Besides the suspension, wheels, and a bit of light body work, the car remains a stock 1.6L Golf capable of sipping fuel on the way to work and back. There wasn't quite enough "meat" to do a full feature on this car, so we figured just sharing this one photo would do.
This month we've been seeing a lot of VW's that some might label "all show and no go", so I'm curious to hear what you guys think about that. Are stock-motored cars bad? Is it OK if they don't go for the "race car" look? Or does it even matter at all? ...

As you saw during Kevve's post yesterday, the Worthersee event is a huge one among the VW and Audi fans in Europe. In fact, it's big enough that Volkswagen itself has decided to display a pair of new concept cars at the event - the Golf GTI and Polo "Wörthersee '09" editions.
It's quite a good idea really. What better place to build some hype for your cars than a big gathering of your most loyal enthusiasts?...

A while back I met up with the guys from Tein at their HQ just south of Tokyo to check out a car they had brought over from the US. At first glance the Tein Golf may look rather sedate, but there is a lot of work that has gone into creating it, starting with the custom wide-body conversion taken care by BRS AutoDesign. The idea was to build an extreme looking body, that would suit the street and track application of the GTI. Joining the one-piece widened front arches are the rear overfenders, which...

Back in the early 2000's when I was spending all my free time cruising around in a Camaro Z28 or 5.0 Mustang , I had a few buddies that were into watercooled Volkswagens. Although I didn't know a whole lot about these exotic German imports, I still remember being impressed by the cars my friends would show me in magazines like Performance VW. Most of the Volkswagens I saw had an aesthetic appeal and an attention to detail that couldn't be found in the vinyl-clad Hondas and Acuras that represented the other side of the "import scene" in those days. This 2001 GTI 1.8T owned by Alan Farrell of Ireland is exactly the kind of VW that caught my eye back then, slightly modernized of course....
