As we wrap up this month, it's rather ironic that I bring to you this final part of my 12 Hours of Sebring coverage with photos of a setting Florida sun. The whole spectacle of this 12 hour race completely caught me by surprise. I woke in the predawn hours thinking of the long day that was ahead of me. In the blink of an eye, I was standing at Turn 7 on the race track witnessing a setting Florida sunset like I've never seen before. The race was going onto its eighth hour, and the backdrop...

The majority 12 hours of Sebring non-racing experience comprises of witnessing a lot of nutters camping at various corners throughout the track and claiming that spot as theirs. There are the well known Turn 10 party people which party like it was 1999 all over again.... for 2 days straight. Many other parties reside at all the corners. But for the quintessential petrol-head Sebring nerdgasm, Turn 7 is the place to be. No other corner sees as much action as turn 7. It's a hairpin corner that...

Sebring 12 Hour - It's one of the biggest sports car races in the US and featured on the American Le Mans Series as the start of the season for a number of years. It's the longest race in our season and it set's the tone for the rest of the year. If you do well here, you put yourself in a good position to challenge for the championship. This Sebring is a little different, though. The tone has already been set in GT2 over the last year or two. All of the top teams know the challenge that...

The bad thing about starting a twelve hour race at 10:30 in the morning is the food coma induced lull that blankets the whole circuit after 1pm. The top tier racing teams are fed well. How about some slow roasted barbeque catered in the pit lane, with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and many other southern delicacies? Southern sweet tea? How about finishing your amazing lunch by perusing through baskets filled with candies and cakes of various degrees of amazing deliciousness? The result of this...

Remember those days that start of just perfectly, then gradually make a downward spiral into well, to be frank, a not-so-perfect day? The ALMS Falken team had one of those days at the 58th running of the 12 hours of Sebring. The day before the race, the signature green and teal porsche, qualified on the front row in the GT2 class. It was the team's best qualifying position to date, and they all were just ecstatic about it! At the start of the race, good news continued to pour in: the Falken Porsche...

Napoleon Bonaparte, a man who conquered most of Europe during his prime, knew a thing or two about warfare. However, being a pragmatist at heart he declared "I do not want a good General, I want a lucky one". That expression could easily serve as a motto for the 2010 Sebring 12 Hours. Several parties used their 'get out of jail free card' to great effect, others got screwed through no fault of their own. It was all gloriously random and made for a great event. Take IMSA for instance...

I know John Brooks always talks about the loonies that party at turn 10. But in my Twelve Hours of Sebring experience, turn 7 is the place to be. It's a fantastic corner to spectate. As the cars exit out of turn 5, they blast into the gentle curve of turn 6 and into a nice straight, then they brake hard into the hairpin of turn 7. The cars back fire as they brake into the corner and there is a ton of passing to be witnessed. At night, this is the corner to sit at to see the brake disks glow red...

I wish you all could hear just how amazing this car's V12 sounds. The best next option is to have this car on your computer's desktop, right? Head on over to the Desktops section to grab both widescreen and standard sized wallpapers of this shot of the Aston in the early morning hours at Sebring International Raceway. -Linhbergh Speedhunters 12 Hours of Sebring coverage

Dawn is a truly magical time of the day. I've seen a lot of sunrises in my time. So it is safe to say that no two sunrises are ever the same. The sun has risen over the same horizon for the past few billions of years, but we sapient creatures have created in our minds that each one is beautiful in its own way. Factors like where you are, what you're doing, and how you're spending your time during sunrises makes each one special. The sunrises to greet a day of what will be the 58th 12...

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times" ... This Dickens' quote rather eloquently describes Team Falken's Sebring 2010 experience. While the race result was a big disappointment, the opening battle will likely be remembered by race fans for many years and is the reason that so many of us are so obsessed with motorsports to begin with. What could be better than a group of Porsches, BMWs, Vettes and a Ferrari going at it lap after lap? Thanks to the camera wizardry of...

To no one's great surprise Peugeot won the the 58th Sebring 12 Hours testerday in the Central Highlands of Florida. The winning crew, Alexander Wurz, Marc Gene and Anthony Davidson finished 13.817 seconds in front of their sister car covering some 367 laps or 2,185 kilometres. The second place crew of Nic Minassian, Sebastien Bourdais and Pedro Lamy kept up the pressure all the way to the flag, as Alex Wurz said after the race, they were all pushing like crazy. A fine third place went to Aston...

As I type this, we're in hour three of the twelve hours at Sebring International raceway. The Lola Aston Martin's V12 sounds just as heavenly as we all thought it would, the new Corvettes seriously hurt the eardrums, and the GT2 class has proven itself over the course of the three hours that it is the GT class to watch. In the next nine hours, the battle will become more and more heated. We can't wait to see who will finish first and who will even finish at all. There's some serious...

The Phoney War is over...................the flag has been waved and the engines have stopped and surprise, surprise Peugeot monopolise the front row. 07 put one over on 08 but there is a suspicion that come 10.30pm Saturday that the roles will be reversed. Third fastest was the Lola Aston Martin. The real action is in the GT2 class.........BMW took pole but failed the subsequent technical inspection, promoting The Flying Lizard Porsche to the front. Second place, a fantastic performance for the...

March 17th, yes it's St. Patrick's Day when the whole of the USA turns green, drinks Guinness and pretends to have some connection with Ireland. Well, why not, any excuse to have a gargle even if the green wigs do not really go with my complextion. Down in Florida's Central Highlands the date also has a deep significance, it also involves alcohol in industrial quantities but this time a race is tacked on. So in 2010 we anticipate the 58th running of the Sebring 12 Hours, the first round...

Some of you may be aware that I produce a number of Fan Spotter Guides, including the American Le Mans Series, which also publishes the guide. With the teams already set up at Sebring for the 12 hour endurance race, I have released the first guide of the year, supported by Speedhunters The guide features all the liveries, teams, drivers, classes and tyre information for use trackside or in the comfort of your living room. The majority of teams forwarded liveries and details to me, many under embargo...

As John Brook and I prepare to leave for the 12 Hours of Sebring, racing teams are releasing films as they build up to the event next week. We've previously seen BMW Motorsport North America's film. Here's their direct competitor, Corvette Racing's, take on the upcoming twelve hour spectacle. I cannot wait to hear and feel their new 5.5L V8 in action. I'm sure it's going to hurt even more so than last year's....

I bet Dino Dalle Carbonare must have bought a big case of Red Bull to help him get through this week. You see, he's about to do something a bit crazy for the next five days: Dino's going to visit the Daikoku parking area on the outskirts of Tokyo each night from March 1st to March 5th. This fervor of activity will also see daily posts from the previous night's shoot. Why is he going to all this trouble? Well to help us celebrate Skyline week of course! Today is March 1st (3-1 get it?...
