The AMS World Challenge GT-R build began with a brand new R35 GT-R delivered direct from the dealer. The odometer reading showing a grand total of 74 miles. Since weight reduction is an important factor to performance in the World Challenge GT Series, the vehicle was thrown on the scales to measure stock weight with all fluids and an empty fuel tank... 3908lbs....

The post-R34 chassis Skylines might not get the same level of attention as their older brothers, but they are a very important part of the Skyline lineage. They can also look damn good when done right.
For example, we have Robin Har's G35 Coupe from Irvine, California. Robin's outfitted his car with a tasteful combination of mods, including a set of Weds Sport SA-55M wheels sized 19x9.5 in the front and 19x10.5 in the rear.
Well done sir!

Jacob sent us some photos of his 2000 R34 Skyline Sedan from New Zealand and we knew it would be fine addition to our R34 posts today. The project started off as non-turbo shell that had been stolen and stripped. Although its seen drift action in the past, Jacob says the car is mainly a street cruiser and show machine now....

Here's another one for R33 day. Adrian Hodgson from Australia built his ECR33 Skyline not for drifting or time attack, but for the old fashioned quarter mile. That doesn't mean that Adrian's Skyline only sees the track though. The car can easily drive 85 miles to the drag strip, turn in 10 second ET's and then drive home. ...

Of the overwhelming amount of Skylines you guys have submitted over the past few days, it seems that R33's are by far the minority. I'm not sure exactly why this is, but there were still a couple really cool ones that popped up. One of them is Pierre Porquier's '96 R33 GTS-T.
Pierre has kept his car simple, listing his mods as Blitz front mount intercooler, a Greddy Profec Spec B boost controller, Tein Coilovers, and a set of 18x9.5 Work Emotion CR Kais.
When in doubt, simple is best.

An amazing shot that Speedhunters reader "Endo X" sent us of his rare Dark Blue Pearl R32 GT-R out in a heavy snow storm.
THIS is why we have AWD!

I hope you guys are taking stock of this ongoing SHIFT2 UNLEASHED conversation we're currently having. I know a lot of you have very strong opinions about what you want to see in the game and are certainly not holding back your thoughts. I completely appreciate your candid comments and it's a fantastic feedback process. In some ways this is a similar process to what happened around the release of Shift1, and the game that we are about to unveil is a direct result of previous conversations...

There's something undeniably cool about a low four-door Skyline built for drifting. When I saw that Kyle Vance sent some photos his four-door R32 from Australia, I had to post it for 32 day. ...

Ok so perhaps this one is cheating a bit since it's not a Skyline, but the F31 Nissan Leopard (Infiniti M30 stateside) is rather similar to the R31. This one just might be the coolest one out there, powered by an RB26 and sitting on 18" TE37 SL's. If that's not enough to earn it a spot for Skyline week, it's been tuned by the crazed people at R31 House.
As you can see by this photo, it sees circuit action regularly.

Once again I was down at the Daikoku Parking Area last night for the final meeting of this week, celebrating what is without a doubt the most legendary car to come out of Japan, the Skyline. Even though the all-new R35 GT-R bears no Skyline badges whatsoever, to enthusiasts the link is still very much there. Being a Friday night the PA resembled a meeting out of a Fast and Furious movie rather than the quite gatherings we have seen this past week. I arrived around 10 pm and the place was buzzing...

I hope you guys enjoyed Skyline Week on Speedhunters and found it to be a somewhat eye opening experience. I had a sense that the Skyline community was a global massive, but seeing all of the reader's rides submissions has deepened my understanding of this international scene. One key cultural flashpoint for all things GT-R related is the UK -someone once told me there are now more GT-Rs in the UK than in Japan itself! It's a statement which very much could be true given the strength of this...

This R35 has undergone minimal modifications but has maximum presence. The car looks almost stock, but those small touches like the Hasemi carbon frontlip and and sideskirt (can I call it that?) make it stand out. After seeing this car I feel that a nice drop can make any car look good. The drop has been achieved with a Esprit Quantum coil over set. It's cool to see that the owner still maintained the original wheels, although he did use spacers to push the wheels out a bit more. Recognize the...

Well it's Friday, the last day of Skyline Week. Have you guys had enough yet? To finish off my journey through the Speedhunters archives, I've assembled a gallery highlighting some of the late model Skylines and GT-R's featured on the site. I've included V35 and V36 chassis cars, as well as the R35 GT-R....

After the R32s and the R33s it's now time for the R34, my favorite model. Once again I wanted to start with one of my personal favorites. I know that the R34 has been made with one thing in mind, performance. But these chrome Work Meister S1 wheels looks so good on this white R34. The black accents like the wingstays and the carbon spoiler on the trunk really make it pop. These wheels look huge from this angle. So maybe it's not the best performing car with these wheels but there is no denying...

I've dropped by the Daikoku PA four times straight this week and last night, at what could have potentially been the best meet of this Skyline week, the weather turned for the worst and spoiled everything! The rain was coming down so strong at one point I was contemplating whether to bother going or not. But I'm glad I did as a small group of R34 owners had gathered despite the dismal conditions. I counted about 10 cars which, kind of makes this meeting comparable to the R32 one on Tuesday...

I thought I'd show you guys another cool BNR34 which after the Garage Ito/ProStock time attack monster proves just how versatile the Skyline GT-R can be. As the name suggests, this is a complete Top Secret project, a car that one of my friends here in Tokyo had built with a specific set of goals in mind. It didn't need to be the fastest R34 out there, nor the most extreme looking, it just had to be the kind of supercar that you wouldn't think twice about using on a daily basis. Every...

The last time I was over at Amuse I saw, probably for the last time, one of the most legendary cars that the late Tanabe-san had every built, the Carbon-R. Tanabe-san wanted to create the ultimate time attack R34 GT-R by taking inspiration from the Super GT R34 GT-Rs. This meant a very responsive and torquey engine and a lot of weigh loss which was achieved through the full dry carbon body and the conversion to rear-wheel-drive. I only saw the Carbon-R in action once at Fuji when Tanabe-san took...
