March 17th, yes it's St. Patrick's Day when the whole of the USA turns green, drinks Guinness and pretends to have some connection with Ireland. Well, why not, any excuse to have a gargle even if the green wigs do not really go with my complextion. Down in Florida's Central Highlands the date also has a deep significance, it also involves alcohol in industrial quantities but this time a race is tacked on. So in 2010 we anticipate the 58th running of the Sebring 12 Hours, the first round...

As its St Patricks day its only right we should feature a Irish driver to mark the occasion. Dublin based Danni Murphy is now in her 3rd year of competitive drifting was the first and so far only woman to have been granted a pro license in Ireland -backing up her licensing performance with consistent top 16 qualifying in her first 3 Prodrift Ireland events. She's now here in the UK making her mark as one of the up-and-coming stars of UK drifting. Danni made her UK debut in the 2009 BDC semi pro...

Some of you may be aware that I produce a number of Fan Spotter Guides, including the American Le Mans Series, which also publishes the guide. With the teams already set up at Sebring for the 12 hour endurance race, I have released the first guide of the year, supported by Speedhunters The guide features all the liveries, teams, drivers, classes and tyre information for use trackside or in the comfort of your living room. The majority of teams forwarded liveries and details to me, many under embargo...

One look at the picture above and you can instantly imagine the rumbling of all that Detroit metal. Each of the three cars give you a completely different sort badassery. The green Plymouth Valiant is classically sophisticated, the yellow Dodge Challenger is a rugged badass, and the Viper is just pure, raw, gut wrenching power. The guys at Hotchkis Suspension held a track day at Willow Springs International Raceway and invited Speedhunters to come and drive their various selection of tuned muscle...

With the 2010 SUPER GT season just a few days away, I thought now would be a good time to give a run-down on what to expect over the coming months in Japan’s biggest racing series. Naturally, the strong teams will remain just that, despite whatever changes have occurred over the winter. We can expect to see GT500’s top teams; NISMO, TOM’S, Cerumo, TEAM IMPUL and Honda Racing to remain at the front, followed by Kondo Racing and Team Kraft, with a few surprises from the likes of Real...

Sometimes it's amazing what you can find in your own backyard. Or your old backyard I should say. A couple weeks ago I was visiting my family in the Fresno area when my brother told me about a car shop near his work that I should check out. So one rainy afternoon I packed up the camera and made a visit to Hedges Speed Shop....

We seem to be doing quite a bit of actual speedhunting this month. We already looked at the newest standing mile event, the Mojave Mile. Later this month we will be be in attendance at the Texas Mile. But forget all that for now, the standing mile record for the fastest production car was broken this past weekend in Florida at the Top Gear Run event. The Performance Power Racing Ford GT passed the mile marker at a blistering 252.97 miles per hour! This twin turbo Ford GT did this feat with an estimated 1800 wheel horsepower and an estimated 1475 wheel torque. Mind. Blown.

Check out the video and witness the insane second gear pull and the car wheel spinning all the way to fifth.

You think you are low? Think again... There is a saying that ‘Low is a lifestyle' -well these guys surely know how to live that life. There are no airbags in sight and still they are able to drive these cars, amazing. I'm sure it is not to everyone's liking, but I can't stop staring at the Karmann Ghia in the opening picture. The car belongs to a group of friends that call themselves the 3 Splines Gangsta's and are members of the Panscrapers crew in Spain. It's cool...

I'm spending this week driving around Tokyo in a brand new Fiat 500 Abarth esseesse. I haven't had a chance to drive it much but I'm already getting used to its tiny dimensions and massive fun factor. It reminded me of the great cars that have worn the Abarth badge in the past and I had to post some pictures of this 131, my favorite of them all. I spotted this very rare example quite a while back at Super Autobacs, parked up like it was any regular car! The Bertone designed 131 Abarth...

QLD Porsche Club holds events quite regularly in Queensland, alternating between the Lakeside and Queensland Raceways. At each event fresh cars hit the track, making spectating very entertaining! The last time I shot a Porsche Club track day was late 2009 at Lakeside Raceway. This sexy RS GT3 unfortunately lost control over the bank and scraped the wall, damaging the rear bumper and the carbon fibre wing. This time he was back out in action and kept the car looking immaculate throughout the whole...

Today we got word of a new motorsport event that will go down this summer near Virginia City, Nevada. The Spectre 341 Challenge is a hillclimb event being put on Spectre Performance in the spirit of the old Virginia City Hillclimb. This no-holds barred run down a closed mountain road is open to everything from pro-touring muscle cars to tuner cars. They must, however, be street-registered vehicles. More details are on the way, but it's sounding like quite the event and we are planning on making the trip up to Nevada to check it out. For now, you can find more, including the rules and entry info on the official event website. -Mike Garrett...

Let's start with part two of my coverage of the Streetpower event at Zandvoort. I couldn't resist starting with the Bonder E36 by DBM Engineering. It certainly is one of the most extreme BMW's I have seen in a while. It even managed to set the second fastest time of the day with 1:50.063. Here's another car built and maintained by the guys from Jeroentje.nl . This time a R33 GTS-T with a RB25 engine that has been rated around 325bhp. It seems like fluorescent colors were hot during...

I might be just a little biased in favor of the new Chevrolet Camaro. After all, it's the car that won me a hundred bucks. No, I didn't win an outlaw street race. In fact I won the money long before my week-long test drive of the 2010 Camaro SS. ...

Just saw some pictures of the Ultimate Dubs event held in Telford, England. I can't wait for my next VW event after seeing some of those pictures. One car that really stood out to me is this MK4 R32 with Lamborghini inspired Rotiform wheels. The car they are under was built by G-Werks and I'm been told this car was built in 9 days. -Jeroen Willemsen

This past weekend I traveled down to Summit Point WV for the first Drift Nirvana event of the season. This is my first assignment for Speedhunters and my first drift event of the year, so needless to say I was pretty excited! Mother nature hasn't been too kind to us here on the East Coast this past month. After a few weeks of snow storms, I was looking forward to getting out into the crisp March air and finally do some speedhunting. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate. Four days non...

When Audi released the second generation TT a few years ago, the car's styling won over many who weren't sold on the first generation car. With just a drop and a set of wheels, the new TT could be transformed into something special, and that's just what Christophe Waterplas of Belgium has done with his '07 TT 2.0 turbo....
