    Gallardo Spotted!

    Hey Guys,

This is my first post. Thought I'd kick it off with a special little lady I spotted last weekend in Brisbanes Valley. Quietly tucked away in street backing a Lamborghini dealership, this little beauty lay paitently waiting for it's owner to return. I wish that could be me! :D

Nice! I've seen many Lamborghinis ever since I've gone to car shows, but I've never seen one on the road out in the public.

    What camera did you use?

Thanks for the comments kLutz & Peter!

I use a nikon d40x for most of my work although very soon I will be upgrading to a D3.

I try to use photoshop very sparingly with my photography in most cases. With these gallardo shots, I only used Photoshop to mask out the licence plate no of the car - with respects to the owner and for minor colour enhancements - Thats it.

Peter, I really liked your shots of the Fun Cup 2008! My favourite would be the steam of headlights blazing down the straight and up the hill! Fantastic job!

A D40x? I have a D60 and I can't even take pics that good! [:'(] I guess it's all about HOW you take the picture.

Anyways, I noticed that in your photos you have your edges darkened a bit. Did you photoshop that in, use a lens filter, etc?

kLutz, yes I use a modest D40x. :) It's now become an extension of my right arm!

And yes techniques both behind the lens and in post production are what produce good images. I'm still learning so much and do so mostly by observing proffessional level photos and the qualities that set them apart from the norm. Speedhunters has been a good source of that with it's recent inception! :)

Also, I apologise but i forgot to add that the vignette effect was also applied in post production on these shots - it's a subtle way to frame the car, if your background (like these) is quite ordinary and drab. Having said that there are alot of instances where I've kept a drab, dirty, wrecked background in purposely to create a specific mood - really comes down to how you choose to create your photographic experience for the viewer. :)

Just to let you know, I've added you to my contacts on Flickr (JSitthi). I might be able to learn a thing or two from your photos!
