my dad has a 03 chrysler pt cruser with 80.000 miles on it and just yesterday it started jerking acceleration and the servise engin light comes on and some times it blinks but when we slow down it stops.is it the fule fillter or the drive tran or the spark plugs what might it be?

I think the problem is that you bought your car from Chrysler 

Sounds like an O2 sensor issue. Take it to a local autoparts store and have them put a code scanner on it, that'll give you a better idea of whats up.
