Last year, as the final WTCC race finished, I don't think I had ever been so soaked through. Pau sits in its own little ecosystem, perched as it is just north of the Pyrenees, right down in the south-west reaches

re: EVENT>> WTCC QUALIFYING @ PAU

I LOVE LADA

There was a tolerance placed on the pressure (set at 2.5 bar), which would be changed dependent on the track - this tolerance is the thing that was removed at Marrakech. But it's a tolerance BMW say they didn't know was there in the first place. And who walked the first few races?

SEAT boss Jaime Puig has been vocal in protesting the turbo limit. But there is still the feeling that the TDis haven't been performing to their true potential...

SEAT aren't the only people who are upset though. Here in Pau there's massive anger across the paddock - following scrutineering NINE cars have been penalised and lost either their fastest lap times or their top 10 time. Yvan Muller, Priaulx, Hernandez, Menu, Huff, Larini, Coronel, Porteiro and D'Aste have all lost out due to their engines exceeding the engine rev limit - and most say it was by just single digit or 10s of revs, and then only on downshifts.

The perceived lack of clarity in the rules is likely to have big repercussions after this meeting: SEAT ended their press statement with this:

"Despite the bad results achieved today, SEAT will be taking part in tomorrow’s race to show their commitment with the World Touring Car Championship, but it is also the start of a period of reflection as regards the future."

Expect fireworks, and not just on track.

If any more news comes out during the weekend I'll post it up.

Revised grid:

1: Farfus (BMW)

2: Muller (BMW)

3: Engstler (BMW)

4: Huff (Chevy)

5: Priaulx (BMW)

6: Coronel (SEAT)

7: Larini (Chevy)

8: Menu (Chevy)

9: Porteiro (BMW)

10: Hernandez (BMW)

That is quite important!
