The white Polo has 1.8T 20v engine conversion...I'm not sure on power output but I've heard it's 350-400bhp...? Quite a lot for a small car.

The black roof thing has been popular for some time now, certainly before the E92 M3 appeared...not sure where the idea originates from?

Great post! I too enjoy the flat orange Mk V but agree on the B- pillar issue. I've been seeing flat (also known as satin or suede) paint in the old school hotrod scene for years and think it's cool that it's being applied to modern cars like that Mk V or the Rauh Welt Porsches.

yeah, been that way for quite a few years with VAG wheels. I had 5 spoke Audi TT wheels on my old SEAT Leon, when I lived in the UK and I got those back in 2002. Even replaced the four rings with a SEAT logo :)

I remember the Flat Blue Mark 4 now. I'd completely forgotten about that.

the VW Caddy actually has replica Lamborghini rims.

FYI, all manner of Volkswagen AG wheels have been high fashion in the dub scene in recent years: bentley, audi, lamborghini, etc. and since the same bolt pattern is shared they're putting Mercedes and Maybach wheels too :O

as for the matte paint jobs, that's also been a bit of a trend since about 2005-2006. there's a nice Mk4 that people call "streetmachine" which is from a couple of years ago, flat blue. i'll see if i can't find a photo of it in my collection
