How cool to see a P5 Rover! I had a 3 litre like the one in the photo as a daily driver for a couple of years, the straight 6 was so smooth on tickover that passengers would think that I'd switched the engine off at traffic lights. Then I got a P5B V8, which was awesome. Then a P6B... but my dream Rover remains the P5B Coupe with the lowered roof & wide Rostyles. One day...

Just to follow up on the two posts. I've now had it confirmed that 1600 cars were at the show and an estimated 100,000 people turned up. Not bad!

James L, What's so interesting about the D17 choice? Are you thinking I should have gone with something more powerful? The reason I went with the D17 vtec is because I wanted AC. I don't think a B-series motor would have left enough room for AC. I didn't do the work. Justin March of Richmond B.C. did the swap. The car is as fast as I'd want for a daily driver anyways. I almost wish I went with an e-vtec with gas prices the way they are. I'm just curious what you meant.

Blue_slug- VW, Maybe. I have another image which isnt on Flickr and it has the V front on the 2nd Van, so not sure if its 2 or 3 gens in the picture.

not to be a nit-picker, but i think the shot of the VW vans only contains two generations... and technically it's the same generation ;) the bay-window is mostly just a facelift of the split-window models. still in great condition though! :D

Are those fox-body mustang wheels on the Alfa GTV?

My Dad's first car was a 510. He used to fly around in that thing- SOHC 4 + light weight= wheeeeeeee!!! That softop Z reminds me slightly of a Ferarri Daytona Spider. Hey Andy, have you ever seen pics of the Wop-er, a Fiat 500 drag car? I found some photos of it while browsing some German sites-- beautiful!

Afaik the Datsun 510 was sold in the Netherlands and UK as the Datsun 1300 and 1600 (depending on the engine) and later on Datsun switched over to the Japanese naming of Bluebird.
