Now to continue Grand Prix of Long Beach coverage with some race action from the American LeMans series. The last time I'd shot ALMS was at Laguna Seca last year, so I'd had an itch for some sports car action for a while. What better place to take in some American Le Mans than on the streets of Long Beach? Here the #90 M3 takes turn one during

The bad thing about starting a twelve hour race at 10:30 in the morning is the food coma induced lull that blankets the whole circuit after 1pm. The top tier racing teams are fed well. How about some slow roasted barbeque catered in the pit lane, with mashed potatoes, corn on the cob, and many other southern delicacies? Southern sweet tea? How about

It may be drift month, but I still have some more photos to share from the three days I spent shooting ALMS in Long Beach. After spending the weekend at the LBGP, I really have a new found respect for the people who cover these kinds of races. There is simply so much going on that it's impossible for one person (or even a small group of people)

I spent a good portion of Saturday tooling around the Long Beach GP with Mike Garrett... it was great to catch up with him, but also not so good for Speedhunting as we ended up photographing very similar elements that day. I just had to give him a call to make sure we write about different things!... Anyway here goes..... It seemed like someone would

For the past 35 years, the sound of racing engines has reverberated throughout the streets of Long Beach in southern California. The Long Beach Grand Prix is the longest running street race in the USA and any motorsports fan who has attended the race will attest that it's a world class automotive event. This is the second year that I've attended

Here on SpeedHunters we celebrate car culture in all its many forms. We venerate the places where motorised magic happens and surely the old Hendricks' Field, now called Sebring International Raceway is a worthy candidate for inclusion in this list. However as anyone who has visited the track outside of the 12 Hours event would attest that it is

I always look out for good shots of the cockpits of racecars. Its a hard area to photograph, particularly during a busy race weekend. The 'office' for a race driver is very different from a normal road car. Here is a small selection to wet your appetite for the 2009 season of competitions. British Touring Car Championship driver Tom Chilton

Ooooooooo I just love this car.... I just noticed that Andy Blackmore had a big stack of files on his HD that he was keeping all to himself..... so I've stolen a few of them for us to enjoy together.... For me, this is one of the most eagerly anticipated new race cars of 2009.... Notice the RAYS logo? I am waiting for someone to build a street replica

As the year comes to an end and 2008 becomes a distant memory, we thought we would highlight the many champions in the world of Motorsport during this year. Many of the images come from our Speedhunters posts during the year. We'll start off with the main world championships and work our way around the various disciplines. Formula 1: Lewis Hamilton

Thanks to a tip from Matt who is one of our readers, we found a few pics of the Rahal Letterman BMW M3 ALMS test session at Road Atlanta last week. This marked the North American debut of the BMW which will be making its competition debut in the GT2 class at the upcoming Sebring race. The car has been seen at a lot of auto shows this year, and its nice
