Gil de Ferran, 2000, 2001 Champ Car champion and 2003 Indy 500 winner, enters his final race as a driver this weekend at Laguna Seca, the finale to the 2009 ALMS championship. There are a number of celebrations to mark his retirement, the most prominent being the de Ferran Motorsport Acura LMP1 car carrying a cool Chaparral inspired livery. Jim Hall

Workload has resulted in a lack of ALMS updates from me for most of the season, but it is now time to bring you up to date, in preparation for 'Petit Le Mans' later this month. At the front, the series suffered from the withdrawal from Audi and their R15 TDi after Sebring 12hours. The economic climate also resulted in Audi pulling out of the

A great qualifying session saw Scott Dixon in the de Ferran Motorsports Acura ARX-02a grab pole from Audi and Peugeot earlier today. It was an impressive achievement for Acura and Wirth Research for such a radical new car to beat Audi and Peugeot, almost out of the box. Chief Designer, Nick Wirth was in tears and speechless. Personally, I’m really

You may have seen my post earlier in the week where we introduced you to the new Acura ARX-02a American Le Mans Series, which made its debut at the ALMS Winter Test in Sebring. The test took place earlier this week, and Marshall Pruett has kindly allowed us to show some of his images, showcasing some of the new machines. Rahal Letterman brought their

A number of new machines made their debut including the stunning new Acura LMP1 car, with some very interesting aerodynamics and form. The new Rahal-Lettermann run BMW M3 E92 Coupe also made its first 2009 appearance. More images over at SpeedTV.com's

The fifth round of the 2008 American Le Mans Series took place at Lime Rock last weekend. The circuit has a long history, dating back to the 50's, but this year the track had been resurfaced and re-profiled. It wasn't popular with the drivers as it's quite a narrow track so, as expected, there would be collisions during the event! First

Following our Honda NSX post last week, Auto-Express magazine in the UK have produced some artist impressions of how they think the NSX may look. Its worth remembering that these are just speculation. Sometimes, the magazines will have insider information and sometimes they won't. They will also have the hi-res images of the scoop images to work

One of my favourite 'tintop' racecars is the Honda Civic Type S which races in the British Touring Car Championship. Whats interesting about this car is that its developed by an Independent team and has no works input from Honda. Despite this, the Civic can race with the big boys, multiple wins already under its belt. The Honda Civic is a very
