I thought I'd flag this Dunlop livery competition to all those budding artists on Speedhunters. This is the second year Dunlop have run a competition like this and our post proved popular last year. The rules are fairly basic. You have to be resident in one of the Eight eligible European countries (which rules me out!), use the templates supplied
When this dropped into my inbox this morning, I thought it was a hoax.. Aston Martin have developed a 'luxury commuter concept', the Cygnet, which is based on the Toyota iQ. According to AM, the concept represents a creative, environmentally conscious solution, being small, yet with presence, fuel efficient with the prestige of Aston Martin's
This cool shot comes from Aston Martin Racing, who are celebrating the 50th Anniversary of its first win at Le Mans, back in 1959. Just as 2009, Aston Martin Racing entered three cars in the race for Stirling Moss/Jack Fairman, Roy Salvadori/Carroll Shelby and Paul Frere/Marucie Trintignant. - Some VERY legendary drivers in that list! Although Ferrari
The Geneva Motor Show is one the largest and most significant shows of the season and with so many new launches, we are going to break up our coverage into a number of parts. We've already shown the Lamborghini Murcielago SV, Aston Martin Zero-77 and the Ferrari 599FX, so we will continue at the very top of the price lists and work our way down
Another aggressive supercar at Geneva! For me, Aston Martin Design has always been about elegant, well resolved, sportscars or grand tourers which have a sense of style few can rival. Aston's recent decent language dates back to the DB7 of 1990....but the new limited Edition 'One-77' re-writes these rules. The Zero-77 will be limited to
The ACO released the provisional entry list for the 2009 24 Heures du Mans this morning. The ACO choose which entries to accept, based, mainly upon performances in the previous 24 Hour races, European and American Le Mans. 82 entries were received for 55 places. The full list is available here , but I’ll just highlight a few of the cars to look
Hot off the press! On the 50th Anniversary of its outright win at Le Mans, Aston Martin will aim to repeat this win at La Sarthe in June. Following their semi-works support of the 'Charouz Racing' Lola Aston Martin in 2008, the British team have released an artist impression of the new Lola based racecar in Gulf Oil livery with new bodywork
The Eleventh running of the 1000 Mile Petit Le Mans resulted in a classic Audi-Peugeot-Audi battle in the last half of the race. Andrew Jennings was at Road Atlanta taking these fantastic images for us. There was drama even before the race had started. 2nd place starter Allan McNish lost control on a warm-up lap and spun his Audi R10 TDi into the barriers
As we come to the end of June, Le Mans month, I thought it was fitting that we featured the Le Mans GT1 winner as a follow up to the Corvette C6.R feature . The Aston Martin DBR9 won a close battle this year at Le Mans, making it two class wins in two years. Aston Martin has a long history in Endurance Racing , including an overall win at Le Mans in
The 76th Le Mans 24 Hours came to a dramatic finish, with a victory by Audi with Allan McNish, Rinaldo Capello and Tom Kristensen from the Peugeot of Marc Gene, Nicolas Minassian and Jacques Villeneuve. It marks the eighth wn (yes, EIGHT!!!) for Tom and the second win for Allan. I'm so pleased for Allan, one of the nicest guys around and he's
