One of the best bits about the 2009 Le Mans Series has been the support races organised by Classic Endurance Racing. Grids around the 50 mark and all manner of interesting machinery. We will be bringing you a feature on this later in the year but for now I would like to have a quick look at the BMW element that raced on the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit

Anyone misfortunate enough to stumble into my office will find scenes of confusion. Books and magazines sit cheek by jowl, references in the process of being checked, another pile of slides awaiting scanning, jobs waiting to be despatched. There are several boxes of photo material, film, prints and slides marked "random". Actually that are

There are times when the features that I write for SpeedHunters develop a life of their own. In this case what started out as a quick look at the BMW V12 LMR's victory at Le Mans back in 1999 has turned into something a little bigger than that. The events from that week in June 1999 still echo around racing today in physical and commercial terms

John Brooks was on duty at Silverstone last weekend, so we have a hugh gallery of images form Rounds 22, 23 and 24 of the British Touring Car Championship with some additions from our friends at PSP-Images. I mean, "Things can only get better" so the politicians' siren song went. The Le Mans 24 Hours was

It is received wisdom amongst the cognoscenti who infest the La Sarthe department of France each June that it takes three attempts for a manufacturer to win the big race, Les Vingt Quatre Heures du Mans. Ask Peugeot who will tell you through gritted teeth of the blood, toil, sweat and tears expended in pursuit of victory, that was finally achieved earlier

The email arrives in the in-box, detailing the monthly assignments.................yes, despite the evidence to the contrary on my pages there IS a plan. Most of the jobs follow the monthly themes, so some months I am more involved than others. In July the WTCC was in my neck of the woods, down the Hatch in fact. So mobilising his sense of mischief

I am hearing that a lot of the US GT class ALMS teams are quite worried about the potential of BMW's latest racing weapon.... in the car's debut at Sebring last weekend, Muller and Milner pushed it up to 2nd place before the M3 retired with a drive train issue.... BMW never do things halfway, so it's likely only a matter of time before the

Unless your name is Jason Plato, then the 2008 British Touring Car Championship was a classic year, with tight competition between works and independent cars. Vauxhall, SEAT, BMW and Honda were all on the top step of the podium. It really was meant to be SEAT's year. SEAT had been in the British Touring Car Championship for the last few years and
