When BMW introduced the current generation M3 a couple years ago, I was damned impressed. How could you not be? The previous model M3's were awesome, but there's something about a high-revving V8, a chassis to match, and the subtlety aggressive styling of the E92 that inspires. Everytime I see one on the streets (and that's rather often

A Speedhunters reader by the name of Kevin sent us an email sharing a radical BMW build he found. Based here in the US, this 1988 M5 is one of the most thorough privateer track cars I've ever seen. Weighing at a scant 2,500 lbs thanks to lots weight shaving and carbon parts, this E28 is track-only car that sees action in regional SCCA and BMW club

I don't know the story behind this photo or where it was shot, but it sure put a big grin on my face. The perfect image for a cold, dark Wednesday in January. -Mike Garrett

Now to wrap up my coverage from the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. While there were a few big cars debuted at this year's show, it also marked the American debut of cars shown earlier at other international auto shows. One of these was the Mini Coupe Concept, which looks amazing in the flesh. Displayed alongside the Mini Coupe, was the equally sexy

I'm back home in LA now after a long road trip, watching dark rain clouds fill the sky. Rain in Southern California? Does such a thing exist? Anyways, we have a busy week ahead of us as we gear up for the Formula D finale in Irwindale, but before that we have more action from the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Laguna Seca. If you had the chance

Just got back to to the hotel here in Monterey after spending the day at the final round of the 2009 American LeMans Series at Laguna Seca. My body is massively sore from hiking around Laguna Seca's scenic hills today, but before I collapse I wanted to post a few quick photos and highlights from the day's practice and qualifying sessions. At

As Speedhunters' BMW month finishes up we have one more Stanceworks BMW to showcase, and one look at the car will tell you why we saved it for last. This E36 M3 is owned by Stanceworks member Sean Williams of San Jose, California. Despite the ridiculously low stance, Sean uses the M3 as his daily driver. To get the slammed look ("pretty much

We are pleased to announce this collaboration with one of the most talented automotive artists out there - Jon Sibal. Jon prepared this incredible high resolution rendering of a DTM concept E92 M3 just for Speedhunters BMW month. Head to the Desktops section right now to pick up this piece of art in widescreen or standard format. Big thanks to Jon for

We still have a couple Stanceworks car to showcase before BMW month is over, with one of them being this E21 320i owned by Nic Foster of Tuscon AZ. One thing I've noticed about the Stanceworks crew is that these guys come from all over the United States instead of just one region. It's always nice to see long distance camaraderie in the car

As we wrap up BMW month, there's one more big retrospective piece left to do - the M cars. For over 30 years M-badged cars have embodied BMW's motoring spirit on roads and racing circuits around the world. You've already seen lots of BMW's race cars this month, so let's take a look at the history of production M cars, dating back
