The first time I ever saw Japanese drifting in person, was at an event called GT Battle, held at Rockingham Circuit, UK in the summer of 2005. After watching a lot of JDM Options and reading any Japanese magazine I could get my hands on, I was pretty excited to see two D1GP icons on European soil. The event was held in preparation for the D1GP that

Just for old time's sake. It's still one of my favorite D1GP cars after all these years. I even have a 1/18 th scale model of this one. -Jeroen Willemsen A'pexi

Because it is Nissan month I thought it would be a good idea to let you choose which Nissan you think is the best car in the 2008 D1GP season. I'm not interested in which car has the most top 3 finishes or the car with the most horsepower. I just want to know which one is your personal favorite. The car in the opening picture has seen a lot of transformations

One of the nicest looking D1GP cars besides the ER34 from ‘Nomuken' is the FD RX7 build by R Magic, at least that's how I feel. The car is driven by Kenji Takayama, it's not a real top contender, yet I must add. It has all the potential but it just doesn't get past the top 16. The car is running a T51R turbo from HKS which gives

If you check out my profile you'll see that I now own one of Ken Nomura's Blitz built Skyline ER34. Whereas my car was built to promote the D1 Street Legal Series, this S15 was built as a back up car for the D1GP 2004 season . It was the last season that Ryuji Miki competed in a S15 even after he won the that year's D1GP championship. For

There are a few new comers in the D1 this year. One of those, is the Seiken NKB sponsored Mazda RX7. Well it's not exactly new, because it has been seen in many disguises, it began as a Super Autobacs sponsored car and after that it was painted red an ran Benellop sponsorship. Now the car has been bought by Seiken NKB and is being campaigned in

I'm not sure how you guys think about huge wings in the states, but I feel they are an important part of the car, in the D1GP or any other race. I have collected some of the biggest wings that are currently fitted to cars in the D1GP. What do you think of these huge spoilers? Overkill or is it something the cars can't do without? Thanks to Paul

Takahiro Ueno is one of the top D1 drivers. This JZZ30 Toyota Soarer has seen a lot of abuse but is always maintained to the highest possible level. Responsible for that are Ueno’s own companies, T&E and Sui:Vax. T&E is the company behind the Vertex body kits, while Sui:Vax builds the engines. Paul Castillo from Japan was kind enough to

I have been following the D1GP for a very long time, and I really miss the old days. Sometimes I even put one of the old JDM Option DVD's in my DVD player just to watch Kazama, Miki, Ueo and Nomura battle it out with each other. Besides these four names there is one other that springs to mind and that is Nobuteru Taniguchi (NOB). I always loved
