With the D1 Grand Prix all done for a good five months I thought it would be cool to take a look back over the last few years and more to the point at some of the top drifters that have participated in the Japanese drift championship. I've picked two names that are synonymous with D1, drivers that for some reason or another are no longer competing
Thought it would be a good idea to end the AE86 day with a wallpaper post, and what better car than the Crystal Body Yokohama AE86 from last night's meeting in Daikoku. Head to the Desktop section to grab the widescreen and standard versions. Enjoy. -Dino Dalle Carbonare

As my final post for the AE86 day I wanted to show you guys probably one of the nicest street going hachiroku out there. This car is owned my Miguel of Newera Imports, and since picking it up about 4 years ago has gone well and truly crazy on it. Miguel instantly fell in love with his Levin and knew it would be hard to hold back on the modifications
With the AE86 day coming to a close it's time to take a look at the second part of the coverage from last night's hachiroku gathering at Daikoku PA, starting with the Crystal Body Yokohama demo car which rolled in later on in the night. CBY is one of the biggest names in AE86 tuning and creates parts... ...like the rear FRP gate so many people
While browsing through my picture library I stumbled across this shot I took back in 2004 at Tsukuba. This is Keiichi Tsuchiya at the wheel of the TRD N2 AE86 race car that participates in the Hot Version N2 battles. This car was built by the late Sakurai-san of TRD Technocraft, who passed away last year. Sakurai-san was behind countless AE86 N2 winning
239 PS from a little naturally aspirated four-pot is definitely something you can't argue with. When Kamata-san of Tec-Art's got started on this N2 Project back in 2001 he had no idea it would have evolved like it has, helping him push AE86 and 4AG tuning to extremes. Tec-Art's is a small family-run shop in the outskirts of Tokyo, a place
The feature on the Newera Imports 20-valve AE86 seemed to go down quite well, so I prepared a widescreen and standard sized desktop of the opening picture for you guys. Head to the Desktop section to download it. Dino Dalle Carbonare
It was last summer when I got a call from Miguel over at Newera Imports, saying I had to come over quick to check out one of the cleanest AE86 he had ever picked up. He was under strict orders from a customer to find a spotless "panda" Trueno, preferably with a AE92 4AG-GE swap, or black-top 20-Valve motor to the non "hachi-otakus"
