How low can you go? Not any lower than this Toyota pick up! It's time to wrap up the coverage of the Mooneyes Street Car National with this last selection of shots from the other Sunday. When asked to post more VW material I knew I had to show you guys this spotless Type 34 Karmann Ghia. There was hardly anything "custom" about it but

There was just so much goodness in the parking lot at the Mooneyes Street Car Nationals on Sunday that it would have been a pity if I didn't dedicate a whole post to what I found. Starting off with this immaculate Mitsubishi Debonair. This car was built in 1964 to go head to head with the popular Toyota Crown and Nissan Cedric in the big luxury

I've put together another collection of shots from the Mooneyes Street Car Nationals picking some of my favorite cars from the hundreds of rides that were on display, not to mention what was around in the parking lot! Like I said yesterday it is probably the variety that makes these events so unique from your Americana... ...to the unavoidable VW's

I found myself back out in Odaiba today, roughly a month since the first round of the D1 Grand Prix was held at the same location. Much like at the pro drift competition there was a lot of tire smoke involved, but there was no sideways action to be seen, just a stunningly huge selection of the country's best custom cars. Welcome to the 2010 Mooneyes

Time now for a final stroll through the Mooneyes Hot Rod and Custom show that was held this past week-end in Yokohama. Many of you wanted to see more pictures of the left hand drive S30 above, so you'll be pleased to know I will dedicate a Car Spotlight post to it as it was just too perfect. Hot Rod and Customs are all about the details and even

After seeing Nissan race cars blast around Fuji Speedway at the Nismo Festival it's time to return back at the halls of the Yokohama Pacifico for some more hot rod and sexy muscle cars. When I grabbed this shot of this 1968 Charger I knew I would have to use it as an opening image to one of my posts from this show! This ride was just outrageous

It's official. I am becoming a big fan of the custom & hot-rod scene. I just spent the whole day walking the halls of the Yokohama Pacifico exhibition center during the set up day of the 2009 Mooneyes Hot Rod Custom Show. Unfortunately due to a scheduling conflict I will not be able to attend the actual show tomorrow, as in about 5 hours I will

Joining all the custom American cars at the 2009 Mooneyes Nationals was a very impressive lineup of Japanese classic and modern rides. It all started out on the streets around the show venue, like the above Fairlady Z that was parked up in front of the convenience store, showing off its unmistakable lines in the warm morning light. The selection was

For the first part of the Mooneyes Nationals coverage I selected some American Iron that really stood out for me. Starting with the 1966 Dodge Charger above. It was the first time I have seen one up close and was impressed by that one-piece grille. Not sure how much weight the flip-around headlights add to this muscle car, but who cares when it looks

What a day today turned out to be. I got to Odaiba nice an early, not really knowing what to expect, as it was my first time covering a custom car show like the Mooneyes Street Car Nationals. The "Car Show & Swap Meet," as it was described on the Mooneyes flyer, was held at the Aomi parking area, same place where the D1-GP Exhibition will
