I was up in freezing Fukushima-ken yesterday, more specifically Ebisu Circuit, to shoot a few nice cars for all of you avid Speedhunters.com readers. Since I still feel rather let down by the fact that there was no real big S-chassis event at the beginning of this month, I thought I'd make up the lack of interesting Silvia's from Japan by bringing

With 2010 fast approaching I can't help but wonder what the new year will bring. There will be tons of events waiting for us, close racing in various kinds of motorsport and new interesting cars that will help the automotive culture as a whole evolve. But as we begin another chapter I can't help but reminisce at what has helped shape the scene

Well it's been one week since I headed up to Ebisu for the final Drift Matsuri of the year and I can't believe we will have to wait until next spring for another of these legendary events. The rain and freezing wind didn't for one second spoil what was an action packed weekend with cars sliding around on every track within the Ebisu compound

I'm dedicating this second post on the Autumn Drift Matsuri to the first ever "G1-GP," an all-foreigner drift competition that was held at the Nishi (West) course on Sunday afternoon. With so many Aussies over for the event, Andy at Powervehicles.com came up with the idea of holding a little competition, especially seeing the high level

There is simply nothing like it, the Drift Matsuri is a truly unique event and this third and last one for 2009 has probably been my favorite. With the surrounding mountains around Ebisu Circuit exhibiting the most intense autumn colors drifters were as ever spoilt for choice with 8 tracks at their disposal for the whole weekend. I've selected my

Well here’s a sight you don’t see everyday, even here at Ebisu! Not only was this guy drifting an NSX, “the Japanese super car,” but a modified NSX! The car has a wide body aero kit and engine tuning that includes aftermarket camshafts coupled with remapping via an HKS FconV Pro. The most amazing thing about the day was the way

I recently just went to Japan for a trip out to Ebisu and Maze Circuits to drive my Zenki S14 Silvia I have out there. I have actually owned this S14 since 2005, which I have been storing at Ebisu Circuit for special occasions like this. I haven’t been back over to Japan for a couple of years now, so I decided that it was time to go back and hit

I don't know about you but I'm the kind of guy that gets way too attached to things, especially cars. This is probably why I had a hard time seeing cool JDM drift cars get voluntarily smashed up at Ebisu this past weekend. Sure they are on their last leg, but the optimist in me always sees the potential in a car, after all everything can be

Ebisu circuit truly is a magical place. You could see it this past weekend at the Matsuri where the drifters were like kids in a candy store. Most wanted to sample all that the compound has to offer from the scary wall at the Minami course, to the blind crest at the Nishi short-course and the fast and more grip oriented Higashi. I was driving back and

It was back up to Ebisu circuit this past weekend for me, to cover the summer installment of the legendary Drift Matsuri, but little did I know the 48-hours of non-stop drifting would be joined by 48-hours of non-stop rain! Everyone there got soaked down to their underwear and socks but even the damp conditions didn't stop people from having fun
