The second event of the 2010 D1GP season was held over the weekend at Autopolis. Dino had another event, so he couldn't be there to shoot, but it was Masao Suenaga who took the victory after defeating Daigo Saito in the final. The event also included American drivers Sam Hubinette, Pat Mordaunt, and Mike Pollard, who drove JZZ30 Soarers borrowed

Well I'm dead tired and covered in rubber bits, so that must mean that another season of Formula Drift has started. Today was practice and qualifying in Long Beach, and I figured I'd make a quick post highlighting some of the action before tomorrow's main event. With over 50 cars battling for a spot, qualifying would be a long, though process

It might not have been a proper competition with points, but boy did the action from Sunday's D1 All Star day not disappoint! I was expecting everyone to take it easy, and seeing the weather turned very cold it was a good thing they put on a good show or a lot of people would have left! By mid-afternoon the winds were freezing but I didn't see

After checking out some action from Odaiba in the previous post it's time now to take a look behind the scenes at what helps make D1 the spectacle it has become. Organizers did a great job this year of bridging the action together with demonstration runs out on track and various shows which included some singing from up-and-coming artists as well

D1 really captured the Japanese capital over the weekend with packed stands on both Saturday and Sunday. The TV Tokyo crews came out to film the action and behind the scenes for a special show which will be aired later next month. I know I probably say this every year but the level of driving seems to increase so notably as this form of motorsport progresses

The 2010 Japanese professional drift season has officially opened! The D1 Grand Prix championship got under way today in Odaiba, at the much anticipated Tokyo Drift event, which seemed to have brought in record numbers of spectators. As I write this I'm already getting ready for tomorrow's All Star exhibition, which will be focused towards entertainment

How many times you have been to a go-kart track and thought to yourself, "man, if I could somehow get my full size car onto this track, that'd be the funnest thing in the world". Well that's just what you can do every Thursday night at Adams Motorsports Park in Riverside, California. Most SoCal people should be familiar with drift

I know a lot of our American readers are probably staring at the clock right now, counting down the minutes until the start of the holiday weekend. To help pass the time a little faster, here's my final bit of coverage from the Formula Drift Pro Am Nationals at Irwindale. Up above you can see Texan Stewart Leask preparing for a run in his LS1-powered

Now to continue where I left off yesterday with some more coverage from the Formula Drift Pro Am Nationals, held over the weekend at Irwindale Speedway. In the opening shot we see Washington's Nikolay Konstantinov and midwest driver Derek King performing one of the day's closest tandem runs during morning practice. Typically the cars in pro

At the end of another smokey evening of Formula Drift Competition up here in the SF Bay Area there was only one driver left standing - and that driver was Stephan Verdier in his Subaru WRX. It was certainly an unexpected result, but not an undeserved one with Stephan taking down a number of FD's biggest drivers on his way to the to the top. There's
