The SUPER GT season-opener at Suzuka last weekend was an incredibly exciting start to the season, though one of heavy loss to the Honda Racing team. Having started out so promisingly with pole position on the car's debut, the #18 HSV-010 GT was in the wars just a handful of laps into the 300-km event. Ironically, pole-sitter Takashi Kogure, trying

It will be another year until we can see these legendary Nissan race machines in action again, so for this final post from the Nismo Festival I have selected some of my favorite action shots... ...starting with another Mt-Fuji shot. The snowcapped volcano is an awe-inspiring sight, what has always symbolized Japan, and to see a JGTC GT-R drive in front

Every year in the UK, Japanese car enthusiasts get together for the massive Japanese Auto Extravaganza, better known as JAE. The 2009 edition of JAE was held this weekend at Wicksteed Park in Northhampton. Photographer Rich Sams was kind enough to send us some photos from the event. The show spans all makes and eras of Japanese cars, from this showroom

Instead of just mashing everything together in a series of posts, I'm going to divide my TAS coverage up into separate stories that cover the various styles or types of cars. I thought I'd start off with the Nissan Z, since the new Z34 was one of the most anticipated cars at this year's show. The new Z has only been on sale for around month

The eventful 2008 season of Super GT is now in the books. The final race of the year was held yesterday at Fuji Speedway under and despite the not-so unusual cloudy weather, things were looking bright for the Nissan GT-R teams that were aiming to finish off their season of dominance by taking the GT500 drivers championship. From the photos, it looks

The end of the 2008 Super GT season is almost here, and following this past Sunday's race at Autopolis, there is just one event left on the schedule. Fans and race teams were greeted with sunny and pleasant fall weather at the track which is located on Japan's southern main island of Kyushu and is one of the nicest race tracks in the country

As I continue my coverage of the Motorsport Japan Festival 2008, I wanted to first illustrate just how crowded this event was. Look at this photo of the Nismo Xanavi GT-R in the Nissan booth, the car is completely surrounded by people! While trying to photograph the car displays at the event, I quickly found that the only way to get unobstructed shots

Here we have another big event from the UK, the Japanese Auto Extravaganza (JAE) which was last weekend held on the grassy fields at Mersea Island. By the way, I was just noticing that It seems like almost all car meetings in the UK are held on the grass for some reason. Maybe a lack of parking lots or "car parks"? Interesting. Anyways, the

As some of you might know, we've been on a long and crazy trip across Europe and Japan. Right now, I'm chillin out with a fellow American friend, Andrew, in the Suzuka Circuit media center - he is shooting this event for Import Tuner , so make sure to check the magazine in a future issue of the mag. One thing I noticed while walking around the

My first taste of Time Attack in the UK came last weekend when the circus came to the Brands Hatch Indy Circuit. I have already featured the Zen Performance Impreza on SpeedHunters but the Sainted Editor, still in steamy Japan, requested a gallery feature on the Pro Class event. So it would seem appropriate to start with the car that ran a consistent
