I'm not sure about the rest of the world, but here in SoCal it seems that summer has already come - in March. As soon as we changed the clocks over to daylight savings time a couple weeks ago, temps have climbed into the 80s and pretty much stayed there. And so, from sunny Southern California, here's the final part of my coverage from the XDC
Let's continue with another batch of photos from the XDC season opener at Irwindale, shall we? Based on the vibes from the various blogs and forums out there, it seems like the first-ever XDC event was a success, and it's always great to see new opportunities for up and coming drivers to perform on the national stage. In the last post I mentioned
This past weekend the inaugural Xtreme Drift Championship season kicked off, and what better place to start than at Irwindale Speedway, the House of Drift. After hearing about this new series over the past months, I was excited to see how the first event of the new series would go down, and was itiching to shoot my first drift meet of the year... Everything's bigger in Texas, even the tandem drift trains. This was shot at the first-ever Lonestar Bash, held last weekend at Mineral Wells in the heart of Texas. Very good stuff here. -Mike Garrett
July has been a busy month for me -I've put about 2500 miles on my car in the past few weeks just driving to events and photoshoots. Tomorrow morning I'm going to be heading back down to Southern California for the rally portion of the X-Games - something that I'm quite looking forward to covering. Before that though, I wanted to wrap up
Now for some more photos from the "biggest little drift event in the world" AKA the Ziptied All Star Bash. We've covered this event several times now on Speedhunters, and by now it should be obvious that this is where one can experience the best grassroots drifting in the United States. Now on with the photos! Formula D driver Michihiro
There's an air of difference when you compare the Matt Powers of Formula D and regular ol' Matt Powers. The seriousness and pressure of competing with the big leagues in Formula D is completely gone and replaced with a person that just wants to get out on the track with a smile, and leave with a smile. As an automotive website, we mostly focus
Welcome to the Ziptied All Star Bash. Outside of Japan and its drift festivals. there's never been an event that draws so many people from so far to spend 48 hours hanging out, fooling around, and burning tires to shreds. All Star Bash is like a movie that doesn't have any sort of plot, but keeps you entertained with scene after scene of random
Hey everyone, my name is Dan Jenkins. This is my first time blogging about anything, so hopefully I will keep you guys entertained with my words and images. Before I get into the madness that is Hyperfest, here’s some info on me: I’m an East Coaster- I live in York PA, the first capitol of the U.S.! I got interested in photography years
One of the things I love about Japan is the fact there are just as many events held during the week as there on weekends. When I arrived here last week, one of the first things I did was pick up the latest issue of Drift Tengoku magazine to see what sort of drift soukoukai would be happening during on my trip. One of the events I found was the YMS Cup
