Let's jump right back into the action from Dragfest 2010, shall we? What better way to get started than with this wicked little five-window coupe getting hurled down the old thirteen twenty? Scenes like this are what make events like Dragfest so damn cool. The same goes for views like this - a '69 GTO Judge lifting its front skinnies in the

Now we take a quick diversion from the poetic British clouds and intense FIA GT racing to enjoy a little down-home drag racing action in California's Central Valley. This weekend was Dragfest 2010 hosted by Rod & Kulture Magazine at the exotic Famoso Raceway just outside of Bakersfield. I'm a sucker for retro drag action, so I drove up yesterday

One of things I've really grown to appreciate about the traditional hot rod and custom scene is the details - the design of the period carburetor setups, the intricate paintwork, and most of all the car club plaques. As I walked around the Viva Las Vegas show a couple weeks ago, I thought it'd be cool to gather some of these "detail shots"

For my next bit of coverage from the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekend, I'll be focusing on the car show - held all day Saturday in the parking lot of The Orleans hotel. Besides the hundreds of traditional hot rods and customs that had gathered, there were was plenty of cool stuff to buy, lots of beer consumed, and the occaisonal pinup girl making

Last Friday night, after losing my fair share of cash in the casinos I headed over to the The Orleans Hotel to see if anything was going on at ground zero for Viva Las Vegas. The main show wouldn't be going on until Saturday, but I figured I might be able to catch some cars cruising around under the lights. And while there were a few vintage machines

I just got home a couple hours ago from Sin City after spending the weekend at "Viva Las Vegas" - the Rockabilly festival and car gathering that's been a Vegas tradition for 13 years now. Over the past year I've been to some of the finest hot rod and custom gatherings on the west coast, but this was my first time ever attending Viva

As we gear up for the onslaught of the 2010 season, everyone seems to be getting busy. Yesterday I tagged along with Chris Rado and the World Racing team to a dyno session for their time attack Scion, and in just a bit I'll be heading out to the Inland Empire to get the latest on the Rockstar Drift tC. Before that though, I need to finish up my

Moving right along, here's the second part of my trip to Famoso Raceway for the 2010 March Meet. March has always seemed like the unofficial start of the racing season, and taking in this drag race culture was a fantastic way for me to kick off the 2010 season. If you think stance is only about slammed ride height and stretched tires, think again

This weekend a huge number of drag racers gathered at Famoso Raceway near Bakersfield to take part in the annual March Meet. The March Meet has long been one of the biggest nostalgia drag gatherings around and this year was no different, even with rain off and on throughout the weekend. With Sunday looking like the day with the smallest chance of the

Time to take a a break from posting your guest blogs and finish up my coverage of the 2010 Grand National Roadster Show in Pomona. Here, we'll take a look at some of the interesting cars in the indoor show, a few from outside, and some of the historic hot rods from the "Cars That Made a Difference" exhibit.
