This article is dedicated in memory of Tyler Slak, a great member of our community who passed away at the far too young age of 22. Diagnosed with terminal stomach cancer but a month ago, Tyler demonstrated a degree of courageousness and fortitude that made us all proud to have had him as a member of our community. Please visit the group Slakstrong on

Yes, these are without a doubt two of the coolest looking Imprezas around. Alex Wiborg is a regular Speedhunters reader who sent us some photos of his red 2006 Subaru WRX, along with his friend Logan's new model STI. The first thing that struck me about this WRX is the color. How often do you see one of these cars in red? It's not common, but

Reader Michael Mendoza sent us a photo of his project car, a '98 Subaru Impreza Wagon. Originally born as an Outback model, the car was in Michael's words "a two tone horrid looking thing that a grandma or soccer mom would drive". It's now sporting a full JDM exterior conversion, as well as suspension work. Future plans include

We have seen a lot of coverage from TAS over the last week but I still haven't touched on all the cool modified Subarus and Mitsubishis that were present at the show, like the blisteringly fast Tomei/Cusco/Voltex Impreza that was on display at Tomei next to their Z33 demonstrator. I'm really glad to see how well and how fast the CZ4A has come

Here's another nicely done clip from Motive DVD featuring the Tomei/Cusco Impreza as it ran at the '08 Buttonwillow Super Lap. This car of course is one of the machines scheduled to compete in the World Time Attack Challenge this year. -Mike Garrett

I've always loved seeing OEM wheels on cars they didn't come on - especially on cars from another manufacturer. When it comes to OEM wheel swaps, nothing is more popular than stock Skyline GT-R rollers, which offer forged construction, aggressive sizes, and good design. In this case we see a set of R34 GT-R factory wheels (18x9 +30) mounted

After getting back to Japan at the end of last month I had to spend some time organizing and backing up my picture library. Like every time I do this kind of thing, I unavoidably start looking through old galleries which is where I stumbled upon this snap I took in LA a few years ago. The car is owned by a friend of mine, a true enthusiast that takes

For my next post I'm going to show you a selection of AWD cars from Need for Speed SHIFT. As I know you guys get annoyed and hot-under-the-collar whenever any subject matter gets overplayed on Speedhunters, so I'll start to wrap things up with a wider selection of cars from the game. So let's look first at the R34. As you upgrade the Skyline

I wasn't sure which side I wanted to show guys, the front or the back. I ended up choosing the front because the visual impact was greater. This thing has to be one of the hottest looking Impreza's out there. It is rocking wheels that measure 18"x10 +1 on the rear and 18"x10 +5 in the front. For more amazing pictures of this car you

This month has gone by fast hasn't it? I'm finding it hard to believe that we've got just over a week left before AWD month is going to be over. I've had the fortune of attending numerous track events here in the USA and in Japan, so I thought I'd post a gallery of some of the most memorable Evo and Impreza time attack cars I've
