As the sun set early on Tuesday afternoon the Super Class of MSC got down to the final battles. Here are the two Run Free AE86s flying past the apex of the judged corner, Yamashita grabbing second position overall making him the winner of the East-Japan league with 52 points. This is one car I haven't seen before, built by Auto Service Mori, a respected

I thought that for this second post from the MSC final it would be cool to take a walk through the paddock at Mobara's circuit, a great way to get a closer look at some of the cars that compete in this drift championship. There is always a nice mix of cars at MSC, all the way from the pro-looking machinery that competes in the Expert and Super classes

I found myself back in Mobara circuit yesterday, on a bitterly cold autumn morning, ready to get another drifting fix at the final round of this year's MSC Challenge. All the regulars we saw at Honjo in August were back, ready to score some final points in a last attempt to climb the point standings. There were also tons of other cool rides participating

I'm glad the first part of the MSC Round 8 coverage went down well, so I've compiled another selection of crazy drift cars from Honjyo circuit. These grassroots events ooze the right kind of atmosphere, unlike more professional oriented series, which is precisely why I enjoy covering them so much. Here is the Team Magician JZX110 against the

One of the main attractions of the MSC Challenge are the triple drift runs, where teams field three cars each and have them drift in formation bumper to bumper to impress the judges. The above shot was taken yesterday at Honjyo circuit at Round 8 of the 2009 championship. As ever at MSC events the atmosphere is very chilled out, making it a pleasure

The whole November-January period is a very busy time for car events in Japan. This past weekend had the Nismo Festival as well as the "Games Tokyo" event in Odaiba which featured MSC drifting as well as 2-wheeled stunt and race action. I wasn't able to make it out there, but our friends at Wrecked Magazine have posted a ton of photos

The S14 Silvia from the Magician drift team always seems to be popular, so how about a high res desktop wallpaper of it? I shot this photo during the recent MSC event at Nikko Circuit and if you look closely you can see that the Magican decal on the driver's helmet is almost aligned with the decal on the windshield. I thought that was kind of cool

I was just going through some more photos from last weekend's MSC event at Nikko Circuit and realized I have some more cool stuff to post. I can't say enough how fun MSC events are to shoot. The vast number of cool-looking cars and exciting driving provides a wealth of good shooting possibilities, and even though Nikko is a small course, there

Time for more some more action from last weekend's MSC Challenge event at Nikko Circuit. There is just something about these MSC events that offer the perfect balance of talented drivers and impressive cars without the drawbacks of a "pro" drifting event. MSC events are run on smaller courses meaning there are few grandstands or other
