It seems that the drifting season has started in almost every country. Round one of the Open Drift Championship in Holland was last week. Thanks to Michel we can witness that round first hand. See any familiar faces? -Jeroen Willemsen
Everybody knows that drifting is not all about going sideways, there is also a element of being different. Remember the Samurai drifter? Or Paul Vlasblom and his BMW touring. But when I got an email with this picture attached, I didn't realized at first this was a drift car. So it certainly is different but can it drift? . The base car is 1940 Chevy
Here we go for round 2 on January 4th: the world's top S14s as selected by you. Mr. Chob's S14a: A member of Chi Town's Risky Devils. Team Magician S14a: I will always have a softspot for this all Japanese drift crew. They have some amazing cars. Wander's S14a : One of the most famous S14s in Europe driven by fellow Dutchman Lennart
While researching this blog post, I didn't want to make a standard Driver Profile of Paul Vlasblom like what we've been doing with the Formula D drifters. I wanted to turn it into a Q&A type of feature with lots of pictures of his cars, build projects and driving skills instead. Paul's career got started in 1998 when he was working for
Buried in the heart of the Dirty South, my battle-scarred E46 creeps through a confederate graveyard sharing rank with the soldiers that lie beneath it. Battle takes a toll on everything in it's path, and like each headstone in this cemetary... every scratch, scrape and dent has a story to tell. This war-hardened machine has been to hell and back
I was just doing my rounds on the blogs I visit daily, one of them is the blog that Jon Sibal runs. He posts about his cars, internet finds and about his work as a illustrator. Today I was greeted by these pictures of the Spirant 180SX that Jon dug up somewhere. This 180 is one of my favorites together with the one that Koguchi build and Antonio featured
Not sure if this is intentional but I do know it looks great. The cars are racing in a new series called the International GT Open, the season opener was held this weekend on the circuit of Imola. The series are open to GT2 and GT3 supercars, so a lot of cars from FIAGT and ACO are also running in this series. Picture spotted at Supercars.net -Jeroen
I have seen some badass drift cars in my life but none of them came from Holland -- until now, that is. Lennard Wander has made one of the most stylish and aggressive looking cars to date, and I salute him for that. This car has also given me the opportunity to finally take my own pictures for a Speedhunters feature. I even bought a new camera for this
Here is another must see video, this time from a Australian based videographer called MEZ Productions. It features Grant Scott's, Speedhunters featured, AE71 drifting around Queensland Raceway. Thanks to Beauman Jones from the Hachiroku Blog for the heads up. -Jeroen Willemsen
It seems that Falken is heavenly involved in drifting around the world; I've lost count of all the cars that are sponsored by them. What I do know, is that this is one of them that comes from Holland. The car has been seen before on Speedhunters, but back then it was orange and had a sort of Ferrari Testarossa bodykit. Remmo wasn't real happy
