Nearly all major drift events are accompanied by a car show of some sort. Usually these gatherings are mere sideshows to the action on the track, full of "tricked out" relics of the tuner scene, but Fatlace is out to change that. Based on the first of the Fatlace 1 of 1 Car Shows, Mark and company seem to have succeeded. I was only able to
Some cool news announced for the 2010 Formula Drift season today. Our friends at Fatlace will be teaming up with Formula D to host the ONE OF ONE car show series at each event on the 2010 FD schedule. Here's hoping this will draw some great cars to the Formula D events around the country this year. The first one will be held at the season opener
It's that time of the year again. Next week the city of Las Vegas will be taken over by gearheads of all types as the SEMA Show rolls into the Convention Center. Although the economy is showing signs of a comeback, this year's show will still be toned down a bit compared to years past, with some companies skipping the event for financial reasons
As you're reading this I'll likely be on my way up to the SF Bay Area to spend a few days shooting Formula Drift Sonoma. Meanwhile for you guys, here's the final bit of my coverage from the Nisei Showoff in Los Angeles. Besides all the front-drive Hondas at the show, there were numerous S2000's. They ranged from track-ready time attack
Alright, time for some more coverage from last weekend's Nisei Showoff in downtown LA. Rumor has it that this may be the last Nisei Showoff ever, and if so it'd certainly be strange not to have this summer tradition on the calendar. I guess we'll have to wait and see what the future holds for the event. For now though, let's get on with
Despite being a nut for Japanese iron, I've never been much of an "import car show" kind of guy. I don't know why, but for some reason I've always felt out of place among shined up tuner cars, DJ's, and models. However, there's one event that I'll make an exception for - the Nisei Showoff held every year in downtown
Here we have another big event from the UK, the Japanese Auto Extravaganza (JAE) which was last weekend held on the grassy fields at Mersea Island. By the way, I was just noticing that It seems like almost all car meetings in the UK are held on the grass for some reason. Maybe a lack of parking lots or "car parks"? Interesting. Anyways, the
For fans of JDM tuning who live in the UK, the "Jap Show" events are the place to be. The most recent event was held at Santa Pod Raceway alongside the HKS drag series and Racer86 was there to snap some photos for those of us who weren't there. Here a few of his photos- Some R32 drag cars in the pits. Check the rubber chunks plastered
Is it just me, or is the van and wagon dress up movement in Japan getting bigger and bigger? These photos were taken by Minkara member "L175 MOVE" at the JapanCup wagon & van meeting held last month in Miyagi Prefecture. The event was hosted by T-Selection and J-Line, two companies that specialize in dress up parts and tuning for various
For British fans of Japanese vehicles, there are few events bigger than the appropriately titled, "Japfest". Over 2000 Japanese cars of all types gathered at Castle Combe Circuit for a full day of action both on the track and off. All parts of the scene were represented with events including a car show, track day, drift demos from our friends
