I've hardly finished unpacking from my last Speedhunting trip, and already it's time to hop on a plane and head to Seattle for this weekend's Formula Drift event. Before I move on to cars sliding around on pavement though, I have a few more photos to share of cars sliding around off the pavement at the X Games last weekend. Ah yes, the X

I am sure many of you might wonder what it takes to turn a regular, bone stock- as it came from the maker EVO X into a dominating fire breathing Time Attack monster such as our recently unveiled AMS Performance / NOS Energy Drink Time Attack EVO X. Well today Speedhunters has a special treat for you as I am going to take you behind the scenes and show

I saw that a few of you guys wanted to see some more Evo Wagon material, so I headed to the treasure chest of car photos that is Minkara and found this shot of a tuned Evo IX Wagon running on the circuit in Japan. I don't think a station wagon has ever looked more evil... -Mike Garrett Minkara

It may not be AWD, but when I found this photo in the Mitsubishi archive I knew I had to post it here. This epic shot of Andrew Cowan landing in his Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR was taken at the 1975 Safari Rally in Africa. Those Evos we are so familiar with wouldn't be here without Mitsubishi's experience doing stuff like this... -Mike Garrett

I'm not sure why YouTube car videos always seem to be set to a strange soundtrack, but there are some cool shots here of the Mitsubishi Starion Rally in action along with some of its rivals. Japanese car nerds will probably recognize the Starion Rally from the "Special Stage" comic series and movie. -Mike Garrett

I have yet to see a EVO X on the road in Europe - I have seen one in real life, but only at a dealer... but the EVO X seems to be a bit hit in America and is quickly becoming a popular tuning platform. The Chicago-based AMS shop is one of the leading proponents of US Evo tuning and they built up this ‘silver bullet' street/Time Attack machine

This car has all the right, to look as crazy is it does. The engine has been bored to 2.2 liters and sports a huge turbo. The exterior has been enhanced with a complete VARIS bodykit. I really wonder what this car is capable of. You can see the buildup of the car on the owners blog here . -Jeroen Willemsen

Over the last few years aesthetic tuning has become an important part of the whole aftermarket world. One company I have always made sure to drop by and see at the Tokyo Auto Salon is Charge Speed, creators of some of the most eye-catching body parts for JDM parts. If there is one thing I appreciate in any and every area of car customization it is quality

Although the "big name" Japanese performance machines like the RX7, GT-R, Evo, and Impreza are great cars, I've long been intrigued by the lesser known models that were produced by Japanese companies in the '80s and '90s. There are several of these cars that fit into our AWD theme this month and I plan on looking at a few of them
