Another weekend, and another big event on the streets of Long Beach. There's really nothing on earth like a street course, and for the 36th straight year the streets of Long Beach were transformed into one of the world's most famous race tracks. While the Indy Car series might be the biggest draw of the Grand Prix weekend, it wasn't the

I'm back home in LA now after a long road trip, watching dark rain clouds fill the sky. Rain in Southern California? Does such a thing exist? Anyways, we have a busy week ahead of us as we gear up for the Formula D finale in Irwindale, but before that we have more action from the Monterey Sports Car Championships at Laguna Seca. If you had the chance

In a very short period of time the motor race known as Petit Le Mans has acquired “Classic” status. It is now regarded in the same league as its yahoo, elder cousin, the Sebring 12 Hours. Some of this status is because of the association with the Le Mans 24 Hours and some of the status is due to the challenging Road Atlanta track. It is

By popular request, we have a desktop wallpaper of the T-Mobile-sponsored GT2 Porsche as it crests a small hill on the Long Beach street course during the ALMS race. As always, widescreen and standard versions can be found in the Speedhunters Desktops section. -Mike Garrett

It may be drift month, but I still have some more photos to share from the three days I spent shooting ALMS in Long Beach. After spending the weekend at the LBGP, I really have a new found respect for the people who cover these kinds of races. There is simply so much going on that it's impossible for one person (or even a small group of people)

The green and blue Falken Tire livery may have become synonymous with drift cars in recent times, but for years Falken has also been active in "traditional" auto racing around the world. I'm sure you can recall the Falken Skyline GT-R endurance racer or perhaps the Ford GT that was campaigned in the American Le Mans Series last year. For

You may have noticed, we are fans of the American Le Mans Series here at Speedhunters! The 2009 season kicks off this weekend at Sebring in Florida. We have John Brooks out in his natural habitat, at the track, so stay tuned for more images and stories over the next few days and have already posted a number of articles this month. We also introduced

The ACO released the provisional entry list for the 2009 24 Heures du Mans this morning. The ACO choose which entries to accept, based, mainly upon performances in the previous 24 Hour races, European and American Le Mans. 82 entries were received for 55 places. The full list is available here , but I’ll just highlight a few of the cars to look

Porsche clinched the remaining two manufacture championships at the final round of the American Le Mans series last weekend. The DHL Penske Porsche of Romain Dumas and Timo Bernhard finished on the LMP2 podium, scoring one more point than Acura, securing the manufactures crown. Meanwhile in GT2, valuable points from the Farnbacher-Loles team resulting
