I've hardly finished unpacking from my last Speedhunting trip, and already it's time to hop on a plane and head to Seattle for this weekend's Formula Drift event. Before I move on to cars sliding around on pavement though, I have a few more photos to share of cars sliding around off the pavement at the X Games last weekend. Ah yes, the X
Sunday was the final day of the X Games 15 in Los Angeles and for gearheads like us, the schedule saved the best for last. Following Saturday's Moto X comp, the course inside the Home Depot Center was leveled and new the rally course was constructed in its place. By Sunday morning, the course was complete and the teams entered the Home Depot Center
Another early morning and another road trip. Today it was south on Interstate 5 and through some surprisingly light LA traffic to the Home Depot Center in Carson for X Games 15 - more specifically the rally portion of the event. I just got back to the hotel after a day of shooting, so here's a few photos from the day's practice and qualifying
As I continue my coverage of the Motorsport Japan Festival 2008, I wanted to first illustrate just how crowded this event was. Look at this photo of the Nismo Xanavi GT-R in the Nissan booth, the car is completely surrounded by people! You might have heard people say that Tokyo is one of the most expensive cities in the world. It may well be, but that certainly doesn't mean that you can't find cool stuff for free in Tokyo. The Targa Newfoundland has to be one of the most unique motorsport events in North America. I remember being glued to the televison watching Speed TV's coverage of the event years ago. In fact I think it was one of the coolest things I saw on the Speed channel ever. The Targa Newfoundlad is as big as ever and the 2008 edition of the race just wrapped
In the realm of motorsports, there are few things more exciting than some old fashioned hillclimb action. These shots come from Speedhunters forum member St3ph3n who has been documenting some recent hillclimb events held in Scotland. When you have super cool cars blasting down lonely winding roads in the Scottish countryside, what more do you need?
Here we have some more rally greatness brought to us by "Rommel", a member of the Speedhunters forums. Rommel is a resident of Barbados and he hooked us up with a link to some in depth coverage of the Sol Rally Barbados event which was held last weekend. The event's roster included everything from the latest Imprezas and Evos, to classics
I guess after reading Rod's WRC Italy post, I also got into that rally state of mind. These photos come from Flickr member SIDC Spooks and were taken at this weekend's Jim Clark rally in Scotland. High powered rally cars sliding around the beautiful Scottish countryside sure does make for some very dramatic scenes. Of course the fantastic photography
