This past August, I was invited to be a guest judge at a local drift Drift Mania West event, held at Western Speedway in Victoria BC, Canada. As you can expect at typical North American grass roots drift event, the majority of the cars competing were S chassis of various types. But one drifter chose to break the mold with his choice of car and went

When we launched Speedhunters.com just over a year ago we had two types of videos in production: Slo-Mo Moments and Car Tours. This worked well for a while, but soon it became time to switch things up. We moved on to creating Montage Videos which set racing action against scored music beds. This again was a good thing as we ended up making some pretty

It's been a while since we released a Speedhunters video I know.... but after a few delays, the production of a whole new set of videos is now under way! This particular video was shot at Ebisu Circuit last August... we had just finished filming the Team Orange Triple Drift film but I had one more shot I wanted to get done. So I asked Kumakubo if

Man, if only these guys had come out to the Red Bull event last November... I think we would have seen the greatest drift competition ever!... Oh well, for now we have to watch these shakey cam-corder videos... None-the-less you have to marvel as the madness of the Nomura's drift initations! Completely Jaw dropping.... :R

So of you lot who were at the Long Beach Formula D... let me ask you this: what did you think of the judging and the Top 32 format? From my perspective, this was the best FD event I've been to. The judging seems spot on and the Top 32 format allowed some interesting upsets and tandem battle combinations. I think Ryan, Jim and company have really

Boy I'm tired... I've been shooting photos non-stop since the Formula D event, and haven't had a moment to sit down to get any stories prepped for the site... Let's see here: on Sunday, Linhbergh and I went to El Mirage with the NFS Shelby Terlingua for an impromptu shoot, yesterday I shot at both the Twins Turbo and SO-CAL Speed Shops

Do any of you have "friends" on Facebook who are.... well..... not really your friends as such? I seem to have quite a lot of these, so I get to follow status updates of people who I don't really know at all.... Bit strange but I suppose this is the nature of modern living. Recently on Facebook, I've noticed that this chap named Josh

Here is a fantastic shot of Kumakubo's new toy for your viewing pleasure... you can add it to your desktop and just stare at it lovingly all day long!.... or.... not.... Head over to the desktops page to download. :R

I'm a bit confused by the UK drift scene at the moment. There are now 4 different drift series running events across the UK: Prodrift (who also organize events in Ireland), European Drift Championship, British Drift Championship and JDM Allstars. Each are competing for drivers, sponsors, media coverage, and fan interest. Each has their own strengths

I just received this email from Lucas, a drift film-maker from Poland... Although the styling of these cars perhaps could use some attention, what I really like about this video is that the competition itself is on city streets.... and they are not lined with concrete and fences.... Pretty crazy... :R Driftingo.eu website
