Those of you who are "friends" with me on Facebook will know that last week Speedhunter's editor Riley Vigier and I were crunching to finishing up two videos for the 2009 SEMA Show. You've already seen our tribute to the new Formula D champion Chris Forsberg, and here's our second year end video offering: Falkenhunting 2009. A

I suppose some people might call me a bit of a workaholic as I very rarely stop working. This past weekend though I had a little too much on my plate. I had two camera operators shooting 2 different drift films, was collaborating with our team of Speedhunters photographers, was helping to organize the Royal Purple video game contest and was also following

Conventional wisdom says that time starts to slow down as you get older, but for me I'd say the opposite is true. Each year seems to be more action packed and high paced than the last. Exactly one week ago I was getting ready to fly from Vancouver to Los Angeles to attend the Formula D finals at Irwindale Speedway... but tonight I'm already

When we launched Speedhunters.com just over a year ago we had two types of videos in production: Slo-Mo Moments and Car Tours. This worked well for a while, but soon it became time to switch things up. We moved on to creating Montage Videos which set racing action against scored music beds. This again was a good thing as we ended up making some pretty

So of you lot who were at the Long Beach Formula D... let me ask you this: what did you think of the judging and the Top 32 format? From my perspective, this was the best FD event I've been to. The judging seems spot on and the Top 32 format allowed some interesting upsets and tandem battle combinations. I think Ryan, Jim and company have really

Do any of you have "friends" on Facebook who are.... well..... not really your friends as such? I seem to have quite a lot of these, so I get to follow status updates of people who I don't really know at all.... Bit strange but I suppose this is the nature of modern living. Recently on Facebook, I've noticed that this chap named Josh

As we look forward into the launch of the new 2009 Formula Drift season, we thought it would be cool to release a video shot at the last round of the 2008 season. This is a little bit of a different take on a drifting film..... It's shot from the point of view of one of the Need for Speed girls, Michelle Cifuentes , as she watches the qualifying

Someone suggested today on Facebook that we should rename the site, Drifthunters.... they do have a point I suppose. We do love our drifting..... Hmmm so here is yet another drifting video.. this one is quite different though from anything we've done previously. This is a Japanese street drift car typical of one that you would find drifting at Ebisu

Ok final report from Red Bull... We all know the results by now of course but let's take one final look at the tandem bouts for those who are interested in the play by play unfolding of events. By the time the Great 8 started there was an increasing sense of anticipation and tension building in the crowd. The atmosphere of excitement was increasing

Our resident video editor: Riley Vigier started calling this video "Ultimate Drift" during the course of the post production process. It's a fairly good descriptor for this Speedhunters drifting art film. We've basically taken all our favourite slomo shots from the 2008 Formula drift season and compiled them into a montage style music
