As I look back into some of my favourite bits of motorsports history, one name keeps cropping up over and over again: Klaus Ludwig. I'm not necessarily a big fan of the man himself, but I have an immense amount of respect for what he's achieved over the course of his long and varied career. Some race drivers fade away after a decade or so of

It's going to be several hours before the sun rises in Vancouver, Canada but I'm already up and am working away on my last few BMW feature stories. The first subject to check out is another bit of Munich based Speedhunting that Dino and I did in Germany last Wednesday. We took our two BMW press cars and drove south from Munich for around 100

A lot of the Retrospective articles we put together for Speedhunters tend to focus on lost golden eras of motorsports -- brief moments in racing history when the conditions were ripe for some truly wild race cars to hit the track. Perhaps it was the eras that burned short but sweet which resonate the most with us race fans... It's a bit like James

Is everyone enjoying AWD month so far? The subject is a vast one and we are doing our best to uncover different aspects of the art of four driven wheels . So let's quickly look at another machine that definitely deserves a mention in AWD racing history: the Class 1 spec DTM Alfa Romeo. This is the car which took the DTM championship in 1993 at the

The first Audi efforts in the DTM were from the privateer team Abt Sportsline

The former site of the Dutch F1 Grand Prix, Zandvoort Circuit may have have been unceremoniously hacked in half in the late 80s, but it's lost none of its unique character as a beach-side race through the North Sea sand dunes. With the 2008 Mercedes DTM cars weighed down with success ballasts, DTM's visit to the classic Zandvoort circuit in

Those of you who know me are aware that I spent a good portion of my adult life living in the UK. During this time I was lucky enough to attend many Touring, Sports, GT and Classic car races at Silverstone, Donington, Estoril, Spa-Francorchamps, Hockenheim and of course Le Mans. I never did manage to make it to a DTM race though. Bit of a shame really

The Norisring is probably one of the few remaining race tracks in the world that features a racing line that runs onto a sidewalk. Expect to see plenty of cars losing mirrors and winglets on this wall over the weekend!

Here is a gallery of images from the DTM series visit to Eurospeedway a few weeks ago. Enjoy! Start. Check that exhaust out! Headlights on this car are wicked. Images are from Audi Motorsports, Daimler-Mercedes and DTM. A real master class in top level racing photography I have to say. -Rod Chong http://www.dtm.de http://www.teamamg-mercedes.de http
