This month has gone by fast hasn't it? I'm finding it hard to believe that we've got just over a week left before AWD month is going to be over. I've had the fortune of attending numerous track events here in the USA and in Japan, so I thought I'd post a gallery of some of the most memorable Evo and Impreza time attack cars I've

In my last archive post we spent some time looking at various FF and AWD Toyotas, and now I'll head in a new direction as we look at two of Toyota's high end two-door models, the Supra and the Soarer. Mechanically, these two cars share a lot with each other, so I figured putting them together makes sense. Most people consider the Supra to be

I've been busy today making last minute preparations for Tokyo Auto Salon, but I wanted to take a quick break from that to post up some more photos from the archive. Today's theme: Track Tuned RX7's at Tsukuba Circuit . The FD3S is one of the most popular circuit cars in Japan, meaning I have an abundance of photos them and that I'm

It seems these days, when people think of Nissans, they automatically think of S13s, S14s, 350z, and such. However, I just wanted to remind everyone that in the mid to late 1990s, when FF Honda drag racing was the rage, the Nissan Sentra SE-R was one of the most popular Nissans to modify. It was Nissan's answer to the heavy hitting front wheel drive

The Buttonwillow time attack gathering is probably my favorite tuner car event the United States. In fact this week's 2008 edition of the event will be the first time I have missed it in the past three years. Then again the "original" time attack course at Tsukuba is only 30 minutes away from me right now so I suppose I can't complain

I'm sure everyone has been noticing our extensive Japan-focused drifting posts over the past days. In fact, we just got back from spending some time with another drifting legend who I'm sure you guys will be VERY happy to see here. For this post though, I am keeping with the Japan theme but stepping away from the drifting for a moment. When

Since I have been in Japan I have been surprised at the number of seriously tuned Suzuki Cappuccinos that I have seen at various events. While they are far from powerful in stock form, their featherlight weight and overall size that makes a Mazda Roadster look large in comparison make them very capable cars for motorsport use. One of the finest Cappuccino

The Tsukuba time attack scene is filled with a lot of different cars. Everything from GT-R's and Evo's to fully tuned RX7's and S2000's can be found bringing in the top times. One car that you don't see a whole lot of is the SW20 MR2. There is one MR2 out there, however, that shows just what Toyota's midship machine is capable

I don't think the Cyber Evo time attack car needs much introduction here. Here we see Tarzan Yamada piloting the car towards the Dunlop bridge during the 2008 Hyper Meeting at Tsukuba Circuit. The car has been under constant improvement and I'm really excited to see what will happen once "time attack season" rolls around. The warm

I shot this photo of an FD RX7 blasting through the final corner at Tsukuba during one of the BE Time Attack events last winter. I really liked how this shot came out, and you can see just how timeless the design of the FD is. You can bet that GT wing is doing everything it can to keep the rear of this car planted as it rounds the high speed corner
