Sure the air dam is cracked to hell. Ok there’s no grill. Yes that’s gaffers’ tape over the fog lights. Does any of that matter? No. Nothing matters except the joy that comes from daily driving it, drifting it, jumping it, racing it, and thrashing it. Every dent, scrape, and spray painted quarter panel has a story. Each bit of the

Since our theme this month is misfits and mavericks, I figured I'd quickly post about a car that played an important role in my teenage years - a '72 Ford Pinto. Yep, a Ford Pinto , the car that's infamous for erupting into a ball of fire with a slight tap of the rear bumper. While this hot rodded Pinto was about as shoddy as it gets, it's

It's always interesting to see how passion can push people to create very unique cars, and this Miata from Italy is the perfect example. The owner and avid reader of Speedhunters, Filippo Pirini, has been working on his little Mazda for 3 years and plans to have the car ready in the next year or so. Filippo will compete in one of the Italian drift

While visiting Essen this year I stumbled upon this Porsche 997 Turbo on the SpeedART stand. I started taking pictures right away but was approached by friendly lady who invited me inside the roped off stand for some better pictures. But once inside stand, I found it a bit cramped and had a hard time to taking clear shots of the car. So I walked up

This fresh looking Golf MK4 was spotted at the recent Westside Show in the UK. You see a lot of rims that come from higher end cars ending up on cars in the VW community. This time the owner of this Golf got himself a set of wheels from the Porsche Turbo. It just shows that a design that has been made exclusively for a Porsche also works wonders on

Besides all the BMWs present during the RSG Racing Days , there were also a whole bunch of other cool machines at the event. The car above is a genuine Opel Ascona 400 of which only 268 were produced. It was cool to see the owner Robert Keil using the car for what is was intended for. This car was immaculate inside and out, as proven by this engine

After getting a tip I logged onto the website of Heffner Performance . I didn't need to look hard before I got confronted with this Lamborghini Murcielago. But there was something different about this particular car. Yes your eyes aren't playing tricks with you, this V12 is being aided by not one but two turbo's. They just finished this

Earlier this month I posted a photo of Mazda 323 GTX rally car, but there's one more AWD Mazda I wanted to acknowledge before AWD month is over - the Mazdaspeed Atenza (AKA Mazda6). With a 2.3 direct injected turbo engine and AWD, the MS Atenza was a grown up alternative to the Evo and Impreza and a direct rival to the Subaru Legacy. Unfortunately

Being in Japan has given me the opportunity to see a lot of record-breaking tuner cars like the HRS Cyber Evo and Top Fuel S2000, but there is always something great about seeing a non-Japanese company do amazing things with a Japanese car. This NSX was built by Love Fab Motorsports in Buckley, Michigan, a company with many years of experience in custom
